Inspired by Mama Loves Shopping: Casual Fall Look

Have you “met” Stacey from Mama Loves Shopping? Stacey lives in Ohio and used to be a teacher. I discovered her on Instagram a little while back and she is one of my favorite person to follow there! She is so fun and down to earth, shares great deals from Target, Walmart and Amazon and will make you laugh everyday. She is a mom of 3 and I love her casual style. When I saw this outfit, I screenshot Stacey’s story because I knew I could recreate it with similar items from my closet. Sometimes, when you see another blogger or person wear something, you want to buy that item.…

Combat boots and Thursday Moda with Ada

A style I did not think I would be attracted to are combat boots but turns out I love them! These boots are versatile and fun and I am looking forward to wearing them all fall and winter. Today I am joining Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood for Thursday Moda in styling our combat boots. Do you own a pair? I love that we have very different outfits this time! Both colorful but different! Combat Boots I like the edge that the combat boots give to an outfit but by choosing the taupe suede pair, they still are fairly feminine.I paired them with leggings and a tunic for this outfit…

Folly Beach and Sullivan Island, SC

I am finally getting to the last of my posts from our trip to South Carolina! I am ending with where we started and ended our trip. There is no better time to enjoy a couple of hours on the beach than after and before a 5 hour or so road trip. While not nearly as pretty as the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico which are our favorite, these two beaches were very pretty and a nice escape from our regular day to day life. Folley Beach There is nothing like putting your feet in the water! I really don’t like swimming in the ocean but enjoy…

    Moto Jacket with Summer Dress

A couple weeks ago while browsing at Target (always a bad idea for one’s wallet), I saw this dress on the clearance rack. The color really appealed to me and when I saw the size XS, I decided to take it home and try it. I know that I can usually fit in an XS in the Knox Rose brand and I knew that I could make it work year round. I was pleased to find that it fit! It was a windy day after church and we decided to stop in the parking lot of the French bakery (Douceur de France) to take some pictures. The dress has pretty…

    Friday Favorites

Today, I wanted to share a few things that are making me happy lately! Trager Grill My husband bought himself a Traeger smoker grill for his birthday. He has always enjoyed grilling but he now enjoys it even more and likes to experiment. Even I have used it a few times! The last thing he grilled were some spare ribs and before that a couple of chickens. He usually goes to Ingles on Saturday to see what is on sale, does a little research and smokes/grills away. It has been fun to have some extra meat around to house to add to my planned menu. Closet Beautification As I have…

The 7 Day Skirt Challenge with Is this Mutton and Link Up

When Gail of Is this Mutton proposed a 7 day skirt instagram challenge and/or blog post, I knew I wanted to hop on in some form or manner as I have really loved wearing skirts this year. I finally have found the types of skirts I like the best at this time in my life which means that my taste has changed over the years. Growing up, my parents did not allow me to wear pants (I grew up in a strict Baptist household) and even after leaving the protestant church I did not wear pants much. When I moved out on my own, I definitely wore what I wanted…

November Sunday Showcase and Link up: Target Snakeskin

It was so funny when I posted in my stories about picking up my Target order of 2 pairs of booties and Ada commented that she had bought the same two pairs! While she returned one for poor fit, we then realized we both also had the snakeskin sneakers. Therefore was born the theme for this month. Don’t forget to stop by Ada’s blog for her post, it should be up later today. Target has been a great place for moderately priced trendy shoes and boots lately and I couldn’t help but take advantage of the B1G1 half off + 20% sale last month. I got two pairs of booties…

    Budget Review: September and October

I like to write these posts because they make me accountable and help me brainstorm what I need to work on for the following month! Spending on Clothes As I mentioned before, at the end of August I made of goal to not spend money on clothes till the end of the year! Well, that was a pretty lofty goal and while I did fail miserably, I also did succeed for 50 days which is a pretty nice accomplisment for me. I did spend and buy several things since then including: set of 4 belts (Amazon) tunic (Amazon) 2 skirts (Amazon) a dress on clearance (Target) sweater dress (Target) hat…

Old Colonial Dorchester Historical Site, SC

While in Charleston, I knew that I would like to visit a historical site so after a little google search I discovered Old Colonial Dorchester Historical Site in Summerville which is a 30 minute drive from Charleston. The following is a direct quote from the website. “From 1697 until the beginning of the Revolutionary War, the trading town of Dorchester flourished along the Ashley River, inland from colonial Charleston. Today, Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site’s remarkably preserved archaeological remains give visitors a peek into the early history of colonial South Carolina. Abandoned at the start of the Revolutionary War, the town of Dorchester has all but disappeared, leaving only a handful…
