    Accessories are amazing!

If you are traveling or if you have a small wardrobe, accessories can be a game changer. They can transform an outfit by a switch of a shoe or an earring or by their addition such as a scarf or a necklace. They can be more economical than adding a blouse or a pair of pants to your closet and if you are traveling they do not take much space (apart from shoes). Now the earrings I am sharing are not economical as Nickel and Suede earrings run usually around $25 to $32 but I love them so much that I have collected a dozen pairs over the past few…

    March Outfits

Well, we are nearing the end of the month. March sure ended differently than it started. With at least another month of online learning ahead, I am hoping for temperate weather as it goes very quickly from spring to summer here in the South. My outfits haven’t really changed much in the past few weeks as my lifestyle hasn’t changed much. Of course, there is no weekly playdate and no fun trip to Target but mostly, I was a homebody taking care of my 2 year old and my blog while the oldest were in school. I have been wanting some graphic tees so you will see more of those…

    Baby room updates

Following with last Friday’s room update, today I am sharing a few things I did to my youngest’s bedroom. He is 2 and a half years old and thankfull still sleeps in his crib. The crib has made it through 4 children so we definitely got our money’s worth! It was purchased at Baby’s R Us 13 years ago! I like that it is a 4 in 1 crib so we can take the front off when he starts climbing out of it. We have one of the boy’s extra mattress and box spring for when he outgrows it. The main reason I wanted to make some updates to our…

    Family fun when quarantined

Today I wanted to share some of the things we have been doing to make our days a little more fun! We definitely have created a loose routine that works for us with school work being done usually between 9 and 12 and meals at our regular times. My teen is very happy not to have to wake up at 7:30 while his brothers wake up at their usual time (for my 9 year old, that is 6 am!!). Do not feel the pressure to entertain your kids all day long. We have electronics time during the 2 year old’s nap and we have some tv time during the day…

    My favorite spring shoes

Today, I wanted to share the shoes I reach for the most in the springtime. One of these is new while the others are a year old or so. I do not wear my sandals much until I get my nails painted sometime usually in April but with things the way they are now, I probably buy a bottle of nail polish (can you believe I don’t have any?) next week, and see how good of a job I can do on my own. Burgundy Shoreline Converse My favorite type of Converse is the Shoreline because I like not having to tie a shoe lace. Having a short shoe lace…

    Boys room updates

My 9 year old and my 6 year old share a room. Over the past couple of months, I have made it a priority to declutter our house from top to bottom. I went through the boys toys and after using some of their wall decor they had outgrown in their litte brother’s room, I decided to gave their room a little facelift. My first step was to declutter the top of their shelves: all of those souvenirs and treasure box prizes found a permanent home you know where. I kept their trophies and some pretty souvenirs that would be easy to lift to dust the shelves and dresser. Reading…

    Zella cargo pants review

One of my first posts last year was about investment pieces, items that I was willing to spend more money on, knowing the versatility and the longivity of the piece. A couple of years ago, I bought a pair of Zella joggers that I continue to wear frequently in the spring and summer especially when traveling. When I saw Erin from Living in Yellow shared the Zella Getaway Cargo pants, I knew they were my next new pair of joggers. They seem to be made of the same material as my old joggers and the description is 88% recycled polyester, 12% spandex with 90% recycled polyester, 10% spandex ribbing. As…

    Transitioning to Spring

How do you transition your wardrobe to spring when it is still cool outside but you are tired of your winter clothes. There are several ways to do this without freezing your little tushy off. Colors! Choose your white jeans instead of your black or blue ones. Use brighter colors in your sweaters or blouses. Patterns and textures Bring out some of your florals you haven’t worn this winter and layer under or over. Choose lighter fabrics and layer them. Spring like toppers Shoes and accessories Put away your boots and bring out your open toe booties. Pull out your fashion sneakers such as your converse or your fun white…

    Pantry organization

I have seen beautiful pantries on Pinterest and on some bloggers posts, beautiful shelves, beautiful containers and labels. You won’t see anything extraordinary in my pantry but I thought it would be nice to share my pantry with all of you so that you could see that you do not have to spend a lot of money to have an organized and happy pantry. Over the past year or so I have purchased a few Room Essentials containers from Target and I ordered a few more in the past couple of weeks since I had not seen the color in stores and was worrried I wouldn’t be able to find…

    Cloudland Canyon, North GA

On our way back from our mini vacation to Chattanooga, TN, we took some back roads home so we could hike down Cloudland Canyon. I had seen several pictures from friends who had been and despite the wet day, we decided to take the chance and take the trail down hoping it wouldn’t pour on us. Thankfully, it only drizzled a little and didn’t start really raining till we were almost at the car. The view from the top gives a little idea of the depth of the canyon. The trail was well marked and there were steps down to the gorge and waterfalls. Since my youngest had been cranky…
