Pink is for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. When my friend Ada reached out to me about collaborating one day and showcasing pink, I jumped at the opportunity. We are both wearing pink accessories: she is sharing her pink slip on sneakers while I am sharing a pink purse. I am one of the worst people to take care of myself as far as check ups go and I really rarely go to the doctor. I did do a yearly check up for my insurance a few times in the past 10 years (because I got rewarded with a gift card for going) and do go for my regular gyno and dentists…

    Charleston: What to Wear

While I did love all of my outfits on this trip, it was a little warm at times. I am itching to wear some fall clothes but we are still having some pretty warm temperatures and Charleston was a few degrees warmer than Atlanta. Without further ado, here is what I wore! The first thing we did after we checked in at our hotel was head to the beach (Folly beach) as a treat for the kids. I wore my zella joggers for the roadtrip and they worked out well for the beach as I was able to pull the legs up. This fun tee that I got on Poshmark…

A Perfect Fall Look: Dress and Jacket

While I said I would not be shopping till the new year, I have decided that not spending money equals to not really shopping. So I was able to purchase a few things without spending a dime by redeeming credit card points for a $50 gift card and finally reached my $20 on the Ibotta app to redeem for cash. I was able to get this dress and the hat at Target for 20% off. The Ibotta points paid for a TjMaxx dress on clearance and I have about 10 dollars left. Therefore I am helping my finances and budget by not spending money on clothes while still getting a…

October Sunday Showcase and Link Up: Kimonos: Dressy and Casual Looks

Welcome to the Sunday Showcase! Today we are visiting the idea of kimonos: there are many different types of kimonos with  different length, fabric and cuts… and they are very versatile pieces to have in your closet. I have a couple of light weight floral kimonos and a few solid kimono/cardigans. Ada and I are sharing ways to wear them casual or dressy. At the end of the post, I will have a little slideshow of my kimonos so you can really see that versatility! Don’t just wear yours one way! They are meant to be fun, add a little whimsy to an outfit! Make sure to visit Ada’s post…

    Favorite September Looks (Part 2)

I am concluding my review of my September look by sharing my fallish looks. If it is too warm, I try to incorporate fall with colors and textures or prints. While our early mornings have cooled down, the afternoons are now in the mid 70s and we have to shed the layers. Transitioning to Fall This is the 2nd skirt my neighbor and friend gave me: I love it! Isn’t this tie dye print and aren’t the colors perfect for fall? I added this thrifted denim jacket with it to make it fall worthy but had to shed it in the afternoon. Never used to wear booties with skirts but…

    Favorite September Looks (Part 1)

As we reach the end of the month, I like to look back at what I wore! My blog is my space for sharing what I wear as a stay at home mom. a place where I try to be creative as well as share my travels and tips about life, organization and mommyhood. I feel like I am getting better with feeling content with what I have and more specific with what I would like to add to my closet. I am about 40 days into my no shopping for clothes and am loving the outfits I have created this month. One of my friends (and neighbor) gave be…

Inspired by Last Seen Wearing: Shopping my closet

Any time I see someone wearing something cute there is that pull of “oh that is so cute, maybe I should get it”. There is also that smart voice in my head saying that I do not need anything else. I shopped well this year and am ready for fall and winter! As we enter fall and approach the end of the year, that means several things for us as far as where money will be spent: a couple of vacations, birthdays, anniversary and also Christmas. Do I need anything in my closet at this point? NO! So my goal is to find inspiration from others and also from myself…

Transitioning a Summer Dress for Fall: Thursday Moda with Ada

Thanks again to Ada for asking me to join her with her Thursday Moda Link up! Today we are sharing how we would transition a summer dress for fall! Being able to wear your clothes for more than one season of the year gives you more bang for your buck and gives you opportunities to be creative with your clothes . One simple way to do that is to change accessories and add layers. Today I am sharing two dresses and how I would wear them in the fall. Now we took these pictures on a nice humid and hot afternoon (it was in the 90s) so excuse my hair!…

September Sunday Showcase: Shopping my Closet for Labor Day Outfits

Every year, on the first Monday of September we celebrate Labor Day. The day celebrates the social and economic achievements of American workers. As on other holidays celebrating our country, its history and its people I like to wear patriotic colors without being overly obvious about it. For this day, as I am attempting to refrain from shopping for the rest the year, I shopped my closet and came up with two outfits. I like to have different options, one a little dressier than the other. Don’t forget to stop by Ada’s blog to see more of her outfits. Shorts and Graphic Tee First of all, I had my first…

    August Favorite Outfits (Part 2)

Welcome back to Mireille’s August outfits! Today’s looks center around shorts and more dresses and skirts! Shorts Finding the perfect layering button up was easier than expected: a quick excursion to TJMaxx delivered! I love the material and the fit! Grocery shopping day: hands free backpack purse and simple outfit. Laid back look for a laid back Sunday afternoon: we flew our kites in our backyard and enjoyed our pergola. Poshmark fun find in the blouse: I tried to add some variety in my blouses and tops this year. Bringing fall a little with fallish colors and leopard! I probably will be wearing sandals for another month or so but…
