January Sunday Showcase and Link Up: Red in Winter
As the new year starts and I take a look back at the past year and my spending in the clothing category, I am reminded that I need to make sure that what I do purchase is versatile and will be worn frequently. As I take pictures of my daily outfits, I have realized how accessories add a fun dimension to an outfit and how I am drawn to certain things (sweaters vs cardigans) more than others. So if I don’t wear cardigans much, I really do not need to invest in more for example, even if they look cute on other people. In this post, I am sharing how…

Mommy and Me: Styled for Christmas Downtown and Link Up
For this Holiday Sunday Showcase, Ada (Elegance and Mommyhood) and I decided to take pictures in our respective downtown: Detroit for her and my small town downtown for me. It was a windy and cold day for us! Sometimes 40 degrees feels warm and sometimes it is downright freezing! The city was fixing the lights at the bottom of the tree so we had to wait around a little to take our pictures so we got even colder. Still it was a fun and festive photoshoot. And as a special little treat it is a mommy and me post so you get an extra dose of cuteness! I think it…

What to Wear for Christmas
I am not the only one who was attracted to this simple but special beige sweater dress from Target. Both Lisa from Coast to Coast and Darlene from Aquamarina Style styled them in a blog post (here and here). The dress appears to be out of stock online but you may find it in store. I love that the dress can be worn with or without a belt, it is not too fitted but not boxy either. My friend and I went Christmas shopping a week ago in Marietta and I knew the square would be decorated and would be a festive background for some pictures. I chose brown accents…

Inspired by Lisa at Coast to Coast
This is not the first time that Lisa has inspired an outfit of mine. When I read her post about neutrals for fall I knew I wanted to copy her outfit but of course I did forget to add a belt: that is what happens when you do not double check the pictures that inspire you! Here is the post when I copied one of Lisa’s outfit a few months back. I always have to watch myself when she shares some of her finds because we have similar taste. She could easily break my budget! If you haven’t visited her blog, go on over and leave her a comment! She…

December Sunday Showcase: Styling Each Other
When Ada suggested shopping an outfit for each from Target for our December Sunday Showcase, I loved the idea right away. Seeing what someone else would choose for you is my idea of fun! When I received my package, I opened it with excitement. We decided on style the oufit and accessories 2 ways, one being the way the other envisioned it and then how we would style it without a prompt. Dressy Look: Velvet Skirt, Mustard top and Belt Ada wanted me all fancied up and even sent a lipstick so I donned on my eye makeup and applied the lipstick. I think this is the 2nd time this…

Fall Beach Outfits: Thanksgiving 2020
We just got back from a week at the beach spending Thanksgiving together relaxing and enjoying the outdoors (as well as the indoors) since it was a beautiful sunny week. We decided to keep on with our last few years’ tradition of spending Thanksgiving at the beach albeit by ourselves this year and I have no regrets! It was good to get away and we all enjoyed a week of no worries. Today I am sharing my week’s outfits. The lows were in the mid 60s and the highs in the mid 70s. This was my traveling outfit minus the flip flops and I left my plaid shirt at the…

Thanksgiving Outfit 2020
Well, it is not often that I wear a new head to toe outfit but this is one of them! I am hoping to wear this with a few adaptations at the beach (booties and maybe a tee) for Thanksgiving but really love the idea of this for a holiday. I think this outfit would be great for Christmas in the south or any family gatherings in the next month or so. I took advantage of my son’s orthodontist appointment day and had him do a little photo shoot for me by this cotton field. I had been passing it by and it looked near its peak so we took…

Inspired by Mama Loves Shopping: Casual Fall Look
Have you “met” Stacey from Mama Loves Shopping? Stacey lives in Ohio and used to be a teacher. I discovered her on Instagram a little while back and she is one of my favorite person to follow there! She is so fun and down to earth, shares great deals from Target, Walmart and Amazon and will make you laugh everyday. She is a mom of 3 and I love her casual style. When I saw this outfit, I screenshot Stacey’s story because I knew I could recreate it with similar items from my closet. Sometimes, when you see another blogger or person wear something, you want to buy that item.…

Combat boots and Thursday Moda with Ada
A style I did not think I would be attracted to are combat boots but turns out I love them! These boots are versatile and fun and I am looking forward to wearing them all fall and winter. Today I am joining Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood for Thursday Moda in styling our combat boots. Do you own a pair? I love that we have very different outfits this time! Both colorful but different! Combat Boots I like the edge that the combat boots give to an outfit but by choosing the taupe suede pair, they still are fairly feminine.I paired them with leggings and a tunic for this outfit…

Moto Jacket with Summer Dress
A couple weeks ago while browsing at Target (always a bad idea for one’s wallet), I saw this dress on the clearance rack. The color really appealed to me and when I saw the size XS, I decided to take it home and try it. I know that I can usually fit in an XS in the Knox Rose brand and I knew that I could make it work year round. I was pleased to find that it fit! It was a windy day after church and we decided to stop in the parking lot of the French bakery (Douceur de France) to take some pictures. The dress has pretty…
