Casual Royal Blue Tshirt Dress Style
When I packed my bag for our week in New Orleans, I packed expecting heat so I chose several dresses and 2 pairs of wide leg pants. I wore this dress on another vacation last summer (when we spent a long weekend on Tybee Island) with a kimono and sandals (here). This time I went very casual with white sneakers and white and black polka dot earrings. I cannot abide anything too tight and constricting when I am going to be walking around in the heat and humidity so this dress was a great choice. I love this color and have a few more pieces in my closet in this…

Statement Red Pants for Breezy Summer Style
Oh, my beloved red statement pants: you have seen these before (here with leopard) and I typically wear them with black as in my first picture for my travel outfit. I’ve also paired them with a grey tee and a navy graphic tee. They always get compliments and they are very comfortable in the summer heat. After our last vacation wearing hiking clothes, I really wanted to wear some fun pieces on this vacation. I picked some things from my closet accordingly: colorful, flowy and fun pieces that would work together or solo. We visited the New Orleans botanical gardens earlier that week which is located in the city park.…

Sleeveless with the Ageless Style Link Up
I chose an appropriate and a very broad theme for our Ageless Style link up this June. Sleeveless can be a dress, a top, a vest, it can be spaghetti strap or a broad strap and with summer upon us, sleeveless might feel like a nice choice many days. I chose to share this cute little handkerchief top I found at the local Upscale Cheapskate consigment store. Since that first visit, I have gone back and picked up a few more items. I didn’t use to wear spaghetti straps tops nor halter tops until I found a strapless bra that I like. Mine is a Wacoal bra that I have…

Summer Vibes: Staying Cool with Flowy Clothes
My goal this summer is to stay cool and enjoy the outdoors while not sticking to furniture and getting bit by mosquitoes and no see ums! One way to do that is to wear flowy items in breathable fabrics. I shopped my closet (I do love my collection of loose flowy pants) to put together this light summer look. I first shared these pants in this post, after seeing them on Martha from Marsha in the Middle. The hem is really cute, the fabric light and while I have tried them with different tops, I like them best with white. I chose my new Target sandals (that replaced that pair…

Polka Dots for Summer with the Sunday Showcase Link Up
After taking about a week break from the blog to spend time with family on our vacation, I am back! I have so much to write about our week in New Orleans from sharing some outfits to some of the fun adventures we had. So be prepared: June is going to be all about New Orleans! But today, Ada and I are sharing some polka dots for summer! I actually do not have many items with polka dots in my closet, I think I only have 2 possibly 3. I bought this dress 3 years ago when I was influenced by Lisa from Coast to Coast who shared the dress…

Monochromatic Fuschia Look
This past month, I entered a few giveaways and I was very happy to win a $100 giveway from I’ll have what she’s wearing! It actually took me a minute to decide what I wanted to get as there were a number of things that caught my eye. One of the first pieces I chose was this fuschia top with a v-neck. I wore it with a denim skirt for a reel and have another idea for a July post but today, I thought it would be fun to share a bright monochromatic look. My son and I went to the “duck pond” to take some pictures and I have…

Picnic by the River
On my birthday weekend in Ellijay, GA we spent a few hours by the river having a picnic, relaxing and jumping in the river. The subdivision we were staying at was very large and included a campground by a river. My son and I walked down and discovered how pretty the area would be for lunch and after changing into clothes that would work for our activities, we returned with food and the rest of the gang. This was the sign by the entrance. This area was well maintained with sites for camping or RVs hookups and a large bathroom/shower area. There was a playground and some picnic areas too.…

September Date Night Look
I have been trying to share some date night looks as I have been trying to go out more often (as in at least every other month) and spend some quality time with my husband. You got a sneak peek of this look on Wednesday in my post about our overnight stay at Amicalola Falls lodge as I actually wore this outfit for dinner. I typically shop my closet for date night or sometimes buy a new top which was the case this time. I found this cute top at Gabe’s for less than $8. I am not sure how long it will last but I will say that most…

September Sunday Showcase and Link UP: Unusual Color Combos
This month, I am introducing you to Grace from Graceful Rags (if you do not already know her) who is collaborating for this link up with me as Ada (Elegance and Mommyhood) is taking some time to spend with family this month. Grace is a fun college student who has been blogging since 2016! Grace has a great fashion style, a thrifty approach to clothes and is a fountain of inspiration. Here is a post where I copied one of her looks: Inspired by Grace. Today we are sharing unusual color combinations and I knew I wanted to wear my new to me Baik Baik Honululu pants I found…

Inspired by Marsha in the Middle: Influenced to Add to my Closet
I discovered Marsha’s blog Marsha in the Middle just last month and in the first post I read, Scarves and necklaces and bracelets, oh my, she shared this cute pair of green light weight pants which I couldn’t resist! I have been trying to expand my pant collection to include a variety in cuts and colors and these pants just called my name. Marsha is a great writer and shares a variety of topics as she shares outfits so please be sure to drop by and visit her blog. The two things that struck me about these pants were the hem shape which is really flattering and the color: a…
