Beauty in Spring
While I do not like pollen and how it takes over our lives for a few weeks mid to late March here in Georgia, I do love the beauty that springs brings as well as the days with mild temperatures and blue skies. I took some time last month to take pictures of the beauty around us because the blooms do not last long. I learned something new this year, there are 2 types of wisteria. One is native to Georgia and one is an invasive species. I am not sure which this one is, but I was so glad to be able to take a picture of some blooms…

Bohemian Dream: A Spring Trend Favorite
I have always loved embroidery, flow maxi skirts and dresses, crochet and tassels. So when I saw that one of the 2025 spring trends was titled bohemian dream, I knew I had to put together a fun boho inspired outfit. I had been wanting to update my white peasant skirt for a while (I had one for years from Old Navy and had to get rid of it a few years ago) and the one my mom gave me last year was fine, but a little tight. After some online searching, I found one that I liked at Francesca’s and headed to the mall. I called ahead to make sure…

Spring Outfit Inspiration: 2nd Edition
I shared some inspired by outfits at the end of the March here and started to come across more outfits that inspired me so I decided to share them today. I love shopping my closet and this is a fun way to come up with new outfits. Inspired by Curated by Jennifer I love how Jennifer tries to wear her closet and buy substainable clothing when she does buy something new. She enjoy copying outfits from Turkish ditzis and rewears her clothes in new ways. Nothing better than to copy one of her looks! She shared this outfit in a post here and as soon as I saw it, I…

A trip downtown Nashville, TN
Planning a trip with family is a little different than planning a trip I would like to take with girlfriends. With that in mind, my visit to Nashville included things that I would everyone would like, including the hubby and children. I probably would have liked to visit the trendy murals, shops and restaurants, but settled for visiting places that the kids would be interested in. The Parthenon I thought this would interest the boys as it is a large structure, they know a little bit about Greek history from school and the building and sculpture are quite impressive. Quick Stop by Opryland I really would have liked to go…

White Dress over Denim
I thrifted this fun white dress last spring and was instantly in love with the embroidery details and fun cut (and pockets!). When planning my Easter outfits, I knew I wanted to wear this white dress for one of them (we have 2 church services we attend), but in a different way than in the past (I wore it with white leggings and sandals last Easter). So I decided to style it in a more casual manner since we would go to our church’s party after the Agape Vespers on Sunday. I wore another white dress of our Pascha/Easter service and liturgy which starts around 11:30 PM and lasts several…

Casual Spring Outfit
Today, I am sharing another outfit I wore on our spring break trip to Nashville. I packed casual comfortable clothes and really enjoyed what I wore. My closet is a pretty good mix of thrifted and retail clothes and this outfit is a perfect example of that. Both my jeans and my sneakers were purchases inspired by blogging friends: I bought the Gap slim cropped pants after Kelly Ann from This Blonde Shopping Bag shared them last year and the sneakers are a pair very similar to Bo’s from Bo’s Bodacious Blog. More often than not, I replicate outfits with similar items found in my closet, but every so often,…

A Visit to Franklin, TN
We stayed in a hotel in Cool Spring, TN for spring break which is just 10-15 minutes from Franklin, TN. What a cute little town! The area around Franklin is lush and green with beautiful pastures and fences and rolling hills. The town itself boasts a nice square and boutiques and several restaurants. We first found a place for coffee which led us to the Factory. The Factory used to be a furniture factory, but now houses trendy shops and restaurants. We stopped for coffee, but returned for lunch. The sculpture outside was really neat, so I had to share it here. We passed by that evening after dinner and…

Petal Pink Shopped from my Closet
When I was brainstorming ideas for blog posts for the month of April, I googled spring trends and earmarked the ideas that fit my style and my closet. I didn’t want to buy anything new, but wanted to see what I had that would work: one of the colors that was trending was pistachio and I shared my outfits with Pops of Pistachio last week. Another color was Petal Pink so today, I am sharing a petal pink outfit and I really love what I came up with. I wore this on a busy day: errands, some chores, a dentist appointment, a windshield repair (just a chip) and some cooking.…

Travel and Nashville Zoo Outfit
With the weather a little cool for April (low 50s), I packed a denim jacket and a couple sweatshirts for our little trip to Nashville. I also choose jeans and comfortable shoes as I knew our activities would include walking and time outdoors. I was pretty pleased with what I packed even though I did not wear the one dress and sandals I had brought along in case we went out to a fancy restaurant. As I mentioned in my first recap post about the trip here, we ate lunch at a vegan restaurant called the Sunflower cafe, and I just had to take a picture in front as I…

Nashville Zoo
A couple of weeks ago, we took a little mini spring break trip to the Nashville area. It is only a 3 hour drive and the boys had never been. One of the things I knew we wanted to visit was the Nashville zoo. We first stopped for lunch at an all vegan restaurant called the Sunflower Cafe which was 12 minutes from the zoo. I enjoyed my selection (a “chicken Caesar” wrap) and took some pictures of my bright outfit in front (I will be sharing my outfit in a post on Friday). Of course, spring break was a cooler week than usual with our first day just around…
