April Sunday Showcase: Easter Casual Look
Welcome to the April Sunday Showcase! I cannot believe it is already April! The boys have 5 more weeks to school after Spring break and it is will be summer time! For this month theme, we chose Easter outfits and both went with some pretty, girly but casual outfits.
I wanted to share a slightly different Easter look for the Sunday Showcase this month. While today is Easter on the western calendar, in the Orthodox church, we won’t be celebrate Easter/Pascha till May 2. Some years both dates coincide put more often than not we are a few weeks behind (there are several elements in calculating the date). Anyhow, this is a look I would wear for a egg hunt, or after coming back from church and having dinner with the family. The look is a little more casual than what I would wear for church on Pascha. My little buddy is my youngest and we shopped our closets for our outfits. I did wear this outfit recently on a Friday and it was perfect for errands and relaxing around the house.
We took our pictures at the same pond I shot my Inspired by Jodie post but today we got to see several sets of ducks which helped me with convinced my little one to smile for pictures. I am still on a yellow kick so I was glad to wear my Amazon yellow skirt for the first time. I ordered it last fall and have been waiting to wear it.
This look was actually inspired by Sarah at Foxy’s Domestic Side. I chose this navy 3/4 denim jacket because I have been sharing a lot of denim jackets lately and this one is different than my others. It really makes me realize how I wear denim jackets much more than utility jackets.
I had a laugh when my sister in law told me my Nickel and Suede yellow earrings made her think of potato chips! I have enjoyed this pair a lot as they bring a ray of sunshine to any outfit. My little bear is wearing some hand me downs as per usual! A nice little long sleeve shirt paired with grey shorts is dressy yet comfortable. He is used to wear similar shirts on Sunday so he never complains.
I still am not ready to wear sandals! Maybe because I am enjoying wearing all of my sneakers or maybe I just need a pedicure!
My friend cut my hair a couple of weeks ago: I am loving it! It will be another 4 months before my next haircut as she will be out of the country this summer so I am really enjoying my fresh cut. I typically only get a cut 3 times a year as it takes me 1 hour to get to her house. I haven’t colored it as often lately either. It probably has been almost a year now!
I’ve been buying J’s shoes at Ross lately. These were still $20 but they have held up really well. I have found that Target shoes do not make the cut for my boys. Addidas and New Balance have been good ones too but they are not often on sale.
I can’t believe that in just a couple weeks’ time the blooms have completely disappeared and green leaves have replaced them! Such a short and fleeting life but they sure are beautiful!
Here is Ada’s cute pink dress with a denim jacket too! I love her cute little shoes! I do not have too many flat shoes that are not sneakers nor sandals.
Vivian is quite the little diva with her cute pose and her sweet little dress and hairband.

I chose Jill’s (from Doused in Pink) post What to Wear with Yellow Shoes as my favorite from last month’s link up! I love this particular outfit because yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear as it brings me happiness and a smile. I am really loving these Jambu shoes but probably won’t grab them unless they are on major discount at the end of the season. Jill has a fun style and has inspired several of my daily outfits. She and Carrie from Curly Crafty Mom host a link up on Thursday.

I just love the yellow for spring Mireille. And I laughed at the earrings looking like potato chips. It may be true but they are the best since they are lightweight!!!

I really like the yellow and blue together. I have that same skirt in black and you just gave me a great idea for how to make it more of a spring than summer outfit!

Awesome!

Mireille,
You and your little guy are so cute together and both of your looks are fabulous. He’s such a ham in those photos. What a great idea you and Ada had to do a Mommy-n-Me themed post. It’s so great to you with your respective little ones. Also, I really like the new look of your blog. It’s been well worth the work.

Mireille, what a sweet post! I love this little yellow skirt and it is super cute with your denim jacket and sneakers. And your little guy is too cute in his yellow shirt! That picture with his hands in his pockets is just too much! I really like these shades of yellow on you…and your earrings do not look like potato chips! But that is a pretty funny analogy! I hope you had a lovely Easter.

Your little guy is sooooooo cute! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him before. These mommy and son photos are just darling. Also, I am with you that yellow is just such a cheery color! I wore it last week on a somewhat chilly day but it completely brightened my mood.
