Happy 47th Birthday to Me: A Carribean Dream

This summer, my mother in law gifted me some money to spend on myself. I decided to shop a small business and spent some time browing I’ll have what she’s Wearing’s website. This dress just spoke to me as I was planning my anniversary trip (coming up in 2 weeks!) and I thought it would be pretty to wear in Costa Rica. I took these pictures about a month ago and decided to save them for this post therefore the longer hair.

The dress can be worn on the shoulders, off the shoulders and on one shoulder, and the matching belt can be worn or you could wrap it around a small bag with a bow! The colors are just gorgeous and really photographed well. It is a vibrant dress and perfect to celebrate a birthday!

Here it is worn on one shoulder. I love the added versatility, the attached slip and the light and breezy material. I will have to find a way to fold it or roll it to avoid excessive wrinkles when traveling.

47! It used to be having a birthday made me feel old, but as I have grown older, I have felt more confident about myself and have felt less necessity to receive approval from others. I feel loved as a wife and mother and daughter and I am grateful for my church family, my home and my life. This year will be an interesting one as for the first time, all of my children are attending school. From pre K to a Junior, I have a child in each of the 4 schools in our town!

Do I have goals for this year? Probably the same ones as last year: spend quality time with my family, enjoy some vacations, continue to teach my children God’s way and soak up the little moments that can be enjoyed each day.

I kind of feel like a princess in this dress and am wearing it today for church and the botanical gardens!
