Double Denim for Summer
When I decided to create a new double denim outfit, I knew I wanted to pair light denim with dark denim again as I did earlier in the spring. Of course, I pulled the same skirt out first, but then realized I wanted to share something different. Back to my closet I went looking for contrasting denim and I found 2 Old Navy pieces. And that is how this outfit was born!
While the top is a bit thick and warm for the hottest part of summer, this outfit might work in certain states on cooler summer days and would definitely be a great outfit for the fall! I really like the pair tan accessories with denim in the warm months, so I selected my cork purse (which is really a wine bottle cooler), some studded sandals and cut out wood earrings.
Summer has been busy this year as I am kept on my toes with extra chores (such as laundry and dishwashing and sweeping) with having my parents in the house. I don’t typically accompany them on their medical appointments except for one a month with the pain management doctor for my mom.
My 15 year old has been going to the high school for summer workouts when I works with my schedule and I often time go do a little window shopping during that time. That is often times when I go check out the thrift store for anything that catches my eye. I have been coming out empty handed often either because I don’t see anything earth shattering or because I do not like the line at the register.
It’s strange to think that I hadn’t really tried to wear double denim till this year! I really like what I have come up with so far, and I am sure I will come up with a new combo this fall or winter!

Those denim overalls are so cute, and what a great double denim outfit you have created with the dark wash puff sleeve top. I don’t have that much denim in my closet, but I have managed to put together a few double denims. I think it works well as a, combination especially yours with the very different color washes.
