Shorts for Days: July 12-17

What a fun thrifting outing I had last week with my friend Rachel from The Faux French Girl! I had a little list for what I would like to find and can you believe that I found what I was looking for? My goal was to find some printed shorts as I didn’t have any and yes, even though I have said that I am not wearing shorts much this summer, I still enjoy wearing them when I won’t be in and out of the car. Today I am sharing the 4 pairs of shorts I have and a bonus shorts outfit I wore this week too.

Colorful Stripes

I found 3 of the pair of shorts at Uptown Cheapskate: they had a large selection and a lot of them were on sale too. The print on these caught my eye and at first I thought they would be too large along the waist. They are a little loose but not unccomfortably so. I tried them on twice to make sure I wouldn’t mind the lower waist and they passed the test. Casual look with a tee!

Black and White Stripes

This pair was missing 2 buttons (the buttons were gold), so I asked for a discount and I was given 30% off. Again, I ignored the size (they are size L) and tried them on. They fit well and have about the same looseness as the pair above. The fabric is soft and sturdy and I spent $2 on button and switch them out. While I can sew a button I do not like to, lol!

Colorful Florals

When I saw these shorts, I knew right away I had a number of tops that would work with it from green to yellow to orange. I do not have many colorful sandals (I am trying to remedy that), but I have had these yellow ones from Target for a number of years: I even glued part of them because I don’t have any to replace them. They are a great contrast color with denim or navy so I wear them pretty regularly.

Shorts and Lace

It’s a little hard to see the shorts with my longer lace top (whose purple actually matches one of the purples in the leaves on the shorts), so I will have to take some pictures next week at the lake. The material is one that will be perfect around water and with a simple tank or tee!

White Shorts

This last pair I have had in my closet for a year and is from Target. I replaced my shorts last year as they didn’t fit right anymore apart from my denim pair. White is always fun with brights so they was an easy match!

Bonus Church Outfits

I decided to share my church outfits as I wore the sandals I thrifted on the same thrifting outing! I was looking for a pair of red sandals as I hadn’t had a pair in a few years and I used to wear them all of the time, and I came across this comfortable pair of Jelly Pop sandals. I wore my cap sleeve Halftee under both dresses for modesty and comfort (shop MIREILLE20 for 20%).

I bought this dress knowing I would have to wear a Halftee with it since the neckline is too low, and I loved the color! A fun unexpected combo with red!

The bodice on this dress is tight on me, but I couldn’t pass up the pretty colorful print when I was thrifting (same outing!), so I bought it anyways. Halftees to the rescue!

I hope you enjoyed another week of outfits!
