Nativity Scenes from Around the World
Today, I thought that I would share my Nativity scenes with you. I like to put them up at the same time as the rest of my Christmas decor so the boys remember the real reason for this time of celebration. I am resharing last year’s post with the addition of one more. Italy This is my oldest nativity scene. When my oldest son was 16 months old, we traveled to Italy during the Christmas break to visit my younger brother who lived in Rome at the time. It was fun celebrating Christmas in Italy and we had many fun adventures. I found this small clay nativity scene in a…

Seaside: Bike Ride and other Fun
I am concluding my Thanksgiving travel posts with a little ride through the town of Seaside. Seaside is a beach town that was created in 1981. It’s appeal is very visual with its colorful pastel cottages, a town square accross the beach, pretty shops, and parks. The Truman Show movie featuring Jim Carrey was filmed here. We rode our bikes through the neighborhoods, the children played on the playground hidden near the tennis courts and I browsed in the shops. I love how most of the houses have little signs letting you know where the owners are from. The cottages are mostly large and while having similarities are very different…

What to Wear for Christmas
I am not the only one who was attracted to this simple but special beige sweater dress from Target. Both Lisa from Coast to Coast and Darlene from Aquamarina Style styled them in a blog post (here and here). The dress appears to be out of stock online but you may find it in store. I love that the dress can be worn with or without a belt, it is not too fitted but not boxy either. My friend and I went Christmas shopping a week ago in Marietta and I knew the square would be decorated and would be a festive background for some pictures. I chose brown accents…

Sunday Showcase: Christmas Home Tour and Link Up
Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour! Today Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood and I are sharing our Christmas decor and giving you a little home tour. I like how just like clothes can share some of our personalities with others, that Christmas decor can do the same. Don’t forget to stop by her blog post to see more pictures of her home decorated for the holidays! You can also join us with the link up by adding your recent holiday or fashion posts. I would describe my decorating style as minimalistic but festive. I enjoy decorating but I do not like clutter so I had festive touches every where in…

The Adagio: Spending More on a Vacation
I have one more post to share about our trip to the beach this past Thanksgiving with little tour of Seaside. Today, I wanted to share where we stayed and discuss why I was okay with spending more than we usually do on a one week vacation in the US. As I have mentioned before, we chose to rent along 30A in Santa Rosa beach because we wanted to rent bikes, there were several pretty little towns to explore and the beaches are beautiful. The Adagio I usually pride myself on finding nice accomodations for a low budget but this year, I decided that since we were not going to…

Gulf of Mexico: Beautiful Waters
I wanted to dedicate a post to some of the beautiful pictures I took of the sunsets and the beach during our vacation along the Gulf of Mexico in Florida for Thanksgiving. We were blessed to arrive just a little bit before the sunset set on our first day and it was the most magnificent sunset of our vacation. My son actually took this particular picture and I love how the sun reflect on the water and the breaking wave. I usually wake up early to walk on the beach but I didn’t sleep the best on this vacation (I blame the pillows and not being used to a king…

Inspired by Lisa at Coast to Coast
This is not the first time that Lisa has inspired an outfit of mine. When I read her post about neutrals for fall I knew I wanted to copy her outfit but of course I did forget to add a belt: that is what happens when you do not double check the pictures that inspire you! Here is the post when I copied one of Lisa’s outfit a few months back. I always have to watch myself when she shares some of her finds because we have similar taste. She could easily break my budget! If you haven’t visited her blog, go on over and leave her a comment! She…

December Sunday Showcase: Styling Each Other
When Ada suggested shopping an outfit for each from Target for our December Sunday Showcase, I loved the idea right away. Seeing what someone else would choose for you is my idea of fun! When I received my package, I opened it with excitement. We decided on style the oufit and accessories 2 ways, one being the way the other envisioned it and then how we would style it without a prompt. Dressy Look: Velvet Skirt, Mustard top and Belt Ada wanted me all fancied up and even sent a lipstick so I donned on my eye makeup and applied the lipstick. I think this is the 2nd time this…

Walk in Alys Beach
When we visit the Beaches of South Walton along 30A, one of the towns I love to stroll in is Alys Beach. Alys Beach is a luxury beach resort community. The architecture was inspired by the white traditional homes of Bermuda and you are just in awe of how beautiful these pristine white structures are when you walk around. Most homes have a courtyard with a pool or a fountain and building follows rigurous guidelines to keep the uniformity of the community. I couldn’t help myself and took picture after picture. The day was kind of hazy and foggy so there was no contrasting blue sky but that didn’t take…

Biking along 30A
We rented bikes for the week during our vacation at the beach. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to find a rental on this stretch of beach, because I knew from past experiences how easy the bike trail was to access and how we could have varied rides during our stay. While we do have bikes, we chose to rent because we knew the salt air and the occasional dirt/sand paths would not be gentle on our bikes and bike gears. Renting bikes for our whole family (5 bikes and a wohoo attachment for the toddler) for 5 days was definitely a big part of our budget.…
