Inspired by Grace from Graceful Rags
I am getting so much inspiration from others lately as well as by my new clothes and our outings that I feel like I am running out of time to write my blog posts. I am scheduled out till the end of May I think! Anyhow, this is actually the first time I wore this dress in real life (I bought it this past February I think) and styled it for a post then. Today I am sharing it how I wore it on Saturday for a casual cool day and for church. This look was inspired by Grace from Graceful Rags. She shared an orange dress earlier in February…

Earth Tones with Ageless Style Link Up
This month theme was chose by Cammi from Cammi’s Happy Place Blog since we celebrate Earth day in April. And there is nothing better than hiking pictures to embody that theme so I took advantage of our vacation in Eastern Kentucky to shoot the pictures for this post since I had packed a light brown tunic tee. Daniel Boone National Forest is a great place to hike if you like short hikes with an amazing destination or view. Most hikes range from a 1/4 mile to 1 mile and end or pass a rock arch. Many also have “caves” or rock overhangs to explore. This was one of the longer…

Daniel Boone National Forest: Day 1 Hikes
One of my favorite things about our hikes at the Daniel Boone National Forest was that many were very short (less than a mile) and very scenic. The forest is renown for its many arches and on our first day there, we were able to see some pretty fantastic ones. These first two pictures were taken off the main road where a trail started. We did not take the trail but had to stop because the view of the ridge was amazing. Sky Bridge Trail Now this trail is 0.8 miles long and was special due to the crossing of the sky bridge which is wide but does not have…

Hiking and Vacationing in Style
This Spring break vacation took us to the Red River Gorge area in Eastern Kentucky. I will be sharing our scenic hikes over the next few weeks, but today I wanted to share the outfits I wore on our hikes and outings. I did a great job packing this vacation as I wore everything but a pair of earrings. Shoes were important and I wore my hand me downs Timberland hiking boots when hiking and my cute shoes on our other outings. The weather turned out gorgeous apart from our last day so I was able to do without layers. Peach My goal this spring and summer is to add…

April Sunday Showcase: Easter Casual Look
Welcome to the April Sunday Showcase! I cannot believe it is already April! The boys have 5 more weeks to school after Spring break and it is will be summer time! For this month theme, we chose Easter outfits and both went with some pretty, girly but casual outfits. I wanted to share a slightly different Easter look for the Sunday Showcase this month. While today is Easter on the western calendar, in the Orthodox church, we won’t be celebrate Easter/Pascha till May 2. Some years both dates coincide put more often than not we are a few weeks behind (there are several elements in calculating the date). Anyhow, this…

Target Dress and Denim Jacket for Spring
I haven’t bought anything this month in the way of clothing and it feels really good! As I mentioned in Friday’s post, I really needed a budget reset and shopping for non essential items was the first place I made cuts. It gave me the opportunity to shop my closet, wear all of my jackets and pull out some of my skirts I hadn’t worn since last year. I did purchase this dress in teal green and in black in February and have worn them both this month. I took advantage of one of Target’s 20% sales to buy them. I am learning to wait for a sale when buying…

Budget Recap February/March 2021
I am taking a little blogging break to devote a little more time to other things the next couple of week (I will still have my style posts on Mondays) but wanted to share one of my biggest money lessons I learned this past month. It is not a new lesson but hopefully this time, I will heed my own advice. Some of you may know, since I mentioned it a couple of times that I was doing a no spend month in March. That usually means I am trying to reset my budget because I overspent in an area. I also have mentioned before that I track my spending,…

Jumpsuit and Sneakers for Spring
I always forget about this jumpsuit (my one and only) and how comfortable it is to wear! Nothing like an elastic waistband, flowy pants to feel like you are wearing pajamas! I have shared this jumpsuit in this post for fall and another one with 4 ways to style it. I also wrote an Inspired by post with it too! I really need to wear it on a more regular basis and use my own ideas to style it. Today, I am sharing a spring look with sneakers and my yellow denim jacket. I took two of the boys to take pictures next to some stinky Bradford Pear trees as…

Walking Doesn’t Always Have to Feel like Exercise
Last week, as I had two children at home, I took advantage of the pretty weather to take them for a nice walk near our neighborhood as well as on a picnic. I often walk there, it is a 2.5 mile loop and is bordered by fields and trees. I usually go there for exercise and keep a fast pace and tend to have a hard time slowing down when I walk there with family members. But on this occasion, I decided to slow down. take it at the boys pace and enjoy it. And slow down I did: it took us 1 and 1/2 hours to do this loop!…

Winter to Spring Wardrobe with the Ageless Style Link Up
Since I touched on this subject of transitioning your closet from winter to spring wardrobe in this Spring dress 3 ways post and with Ada in my Color denim post, I decided to not focus on one way to make your wardrobe work but share my favorite 3 ways I wear outfits when the weather is all over the place. Living outside of Atlanta, GA, we do get some cold and wet days at the end of winter but also some days with very mild temperatures. Some days, layers are needed while on other days, a light scarf might feel like to much. So the month of March is typically…
