    Fall Beach Vacation Outfits

I wanted to share a recap from my outfits I wore last week while we were at the beach. We spent the first few days just enjoying some quiet time (I mostly read on the beach), and let the sand and the gulf entertain the children. While I think I will pack cozy leggings and sweatshirts outfits next go around, this year I created a little capsule wardrobe focusing on neutrals, stripes and rust. These are outfits I wore either all day or part of the day. The weather started cold the first day but it gradually warmed up till we had some gorgeous weather for a couple of days.…

7 Day Skirt Challenge 2022 with Is This Mutton

Every year, Gail from Is this Mutton puts on an Instagram skirt challenge to wear/share skirts for 7 days. I enjoy this challenge because I don’t always reach for my skirts in the fall but I do have a nice variety that I should wear more often. So today, I am sharing the skirts I wore (all but one) either for day to day activities or for church. Date Night Look Since returning from our trip to Costa Rica, I have been wanting to make sure my husband and I plan a monthly date. We went to church together and stop by a nice restaurant on the way home. I…

    Fall Looks and Inspiration

If you live in the South of the US, fall can mean all kinds of weather. We have had days in the mid 80s, others in the 40s and 60s. Thanksgiving might be short sleeves or you might have to bundle up in a nice warm sweater. So you will notice that some of these outfits could be worn in the spring or others could be considered winter looks under a coat. I will say that fall in my favorite season as you can wear such a variety of clothes. I am sharing here some of my favorites from the past month or so. Hopefully these will be inspiration for…

    Thanksgiving Outfit: Plaid Shirt Dress

I usually don’t end up wearing my Thanksgiving looks it reality since we have been spending Thanksgiving at the beach the last 5 years but I love coming up with ideas that would work for family gathering throughout the fall and into winter. Here are the last two years’ outfits (mini skirt and sweater, denim skirt and shacket, and denim and poncho looks). This year’s Thanksgiving outfit features a Target Plaid Shirt dress. The funny thing is that I tend to take these pictures in the same location each year as I usually take blog pictures early and take my Thanksgiving outfit pictures mid October when the cotton is fully…

Layering Essentials for Fall with the Ageless Style Link UP

I love planning ahead when I can and when Joanne from My Slice of Life choose our November theme as fall layers, I knew right away which layer I was going to feature in this post. Here in the South, it is all about layering in the fall. What are essential fall layers? Sometimes, you only need light layers, sometimes you need heavier layers. This Old Navy shacket comes in oatmeal and rust as well as in different plaid colors and is a great in between layer. Before purchasing it during one of Old Navy’s 50% sale, I went it store to see what color I would order as well…

Inspired by Jill and Monochromatic Cream Outfit Inspiration

When Jill (from Doused in Pink) shared an outfit with a cream shacket and plaid pants, I knew I could recreate it with items in my closet. I wore the shacket in a monochromatic cream outfit that I really liked the same day I read her blog post (here). I then decided to photograph that outfit as well to give you another styling idea. This cream shacket will also be featured for the Ageless Style Link Up on Thursday too. You are getting 3 inspiration outfits for wearing a solid cream topper! Inspired by Jill I had forgotten how comfortable these plaid pants from Target wear. I bought these last…

White for Fall with the Sunday Showcase

,A couple weeks ago, I met up with my friend Rachel (The Faux French Girl) in Chattanooga at Renaissance Park for a picnic and blog pictures. I typically use my phone for pictures so it was a treat to have someone take pictures with a real camera. A big thank you for these pictures! I have been so impressed with the beautiful parks in Chattanooga by the river that plan to bring the boys back up in December. It has felt so busy lately and I am looking forward to the school breaks coming up. I do not wear my white jeans in the summer as it is too hot. …

Inspired by Nancy and Monochromatic Black

In the past, Nancy (NancysFashionStyle) inspired me to wear a monochromatic black outfit which I shared in this post. Today’s first outfit was inspired by a recent blog post she shared with a pair of satin trousers and a sheer top. It was all black and bookended by fun gold boots. I immediately thought of my velvet joggers and decided it would be fun to recreate that outfit (see more about her outfit here). My second outfit started with a column of black but I chose an accent color to wear with it. Inspired by Nancy I liked the idea of wearing textured pants and these soft velvet joggers I…

Dress Up your Blazer with a Skirt

A few weeks ago, I shared a thrifted blazer my friend Jodie found for me with two types of denim in casual outfits in this post. Today, I am sharing another thrifted blazer that I found at Goodwill on the same day (as she had inspired me to look on my own!). This blazer is in a similar cut, fitted and cropped but in a nice purple color without a collar. I decided to dress up this blazer by creating two outfits with skirts and once again I wanted to incorporate some print mixing which I did in the second outfit. Blazer with Midi Skirt I typically shoot outfits at…

What to Wear to a Fall Event with the Ageless Style Link Up

October’s theme was chosen by Cathy from My Side of 50 and was great theme where we could use our imagination: what to wear to a fall event. As a family, in the fall we enjoy going to festivals, apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Some years, we do all three, others none. This year, we have been busy with sports on the weekend so I am not sure we will have time to include any such activity. We are hoping to go to the apple orchard before the season ends though! For today’s pictures, my oldest and I went to a nearby cotton field, just a few minutes from the…
