Stripes with White
I thrifted this dress for $2 at the end of the school year, knowing I could wear it any day on its own, but could also layer with it. Today, I am only sharing it with white, but it will be soon on the blog with brights! The first thing that caught my eye was the brown stripes followed by the material which is a cotton blend. I like that the straps are not spaghetti straps even though I usually wear a strapless bra with it. Sadly, it does not have pockets, but the fit and feel is so perfect for summer, so that I don’t mind.
These sandals have been a great pair of neutral sandals this spring and summer. I like that they are slip-on, but have that extra wide strap that keep them in place and make them more substantial. I kept the accessories I wore for the day and for pairing it later on with turquoise!
You wouldn’t think it would be that difficult to find a white denim jacket that I like! Finally found this one this year (granted I only wanted to thrift one so the search took longer). The jacket has distressing front and back and I guess I need a blog post just to highlight its features!
While pairing something with white might sound a little basic, choosing white pieces that are unique make the outfit stand out instead of being average.
A bientôt!

Is this the dress you wore on the plane here?? Pockets aren’t always that hard to add…too bad we didn’t do that when you were here.
So cute,

Love this outfit! The dress is so versatile and a great transition piece for summer to fall. I agree, it’s difficult to thrift a white denim jacket. I’ve been searching as well and in the interim I’ve been wearing a white cotton button down tied at the waist in place of one.

Yes, I did that one year too then got something that was okay so then I was back to my search.

I think white denim jackets truly are a beast of their own! They definitely fit differently than blue ones! Love it with this dress!

You look great in your striped summer maxi dress! Cool and comfortable You must have some really great thrift and second hand shops in your area to find bargains like these. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for sharing !

It really is a nice thrift store to visit! I often do find things and while mostly I buy the things that are half off, I do occasionally get something that isn’t. Then it is closer to $8-$10 especially if it is a nicer brand or something new with tags.

But the search for a white jacket was worth it right? Lovely dress, perfect for these hot days!

It too me several years, but I think this one is the one.

I have learned I sometimes will try about 10 things and one or two will work.

You find the BEST things!! I just bought a very similar dress on Amazon. So comfy. And light. Yes, give the denim jacket a post of its own. I need a new one – well, a new thrifted white denim jacket. Mine has a tiny hole in the back. Not ready to toss it unless I find the perfect replacement. Yours sounds darling. And I like the roomy fit.

I will put that on my September blog calendar!

Wow, Mireille, that is a fabulous dress for $2! I love the silhouette, the vertical stripes, and the brown and white colors. It looks really chic and sophisticated with white. I think it’ll look equally (or maybe even more) fabulous with turquoise! I love turquoise or teals with browns and tans. It’s such a rich color combination. I’m picturing it with a chunky sweater and cowgirl boots for fall! This dress is going to prove itself to be quite versatile, I beleive! Beautiful, my friend.
