Ruffled Skirt: Shopping my Closet for a New Look
One of the things I have enjoyed from this Skirt in July Challenge is that it has helped me create new outfits with what I already have in my closet. I did buy a skort (Target) and a button front skirt (thrifted) for it but otherwise, I looked through my closet to find skirts for each category and tried to create a new outfit that I had neither worn on the blog nor in a daily outfit. Before I forget, I want to thank my 11 year old for attempting to take all of the pictures for this post. Attempt because as he was going to take my third picture,…

Knit skirt with a Graphic Tee
There are many definitions and types of knitted fabric! I chose this particular pencil skirt to share today because it is one of my favorite, it moves and stretches as needed and have several years of thrifting it, I still love the print! I have worn it with white and navy before but never with grey so in the interest of diversity of outfits, I chose this graphic tee to style it. The earrings and tee pull some of the pink in the skirt and the sandals mirror the grey of the tee. I pulled out my grey and pink crossbody to tie it all together. It’s funny how I…

White for Summer with a Button Down Skirt with the Ageless Style Link Up
Today, I am sharing a fun little outfit I wore a few weeks ago on a little staycation in Marietta, GA. Not wanting to let a free hotel night to go to waste, I packed up 3 of my boys and we went to stay at the Marietta Conference Center. Before checking in, we enjoyed a little walk in the square, bribing the boys with ice cream as a reward for taking some blog pictures for me. We also stopped by a couple fun shops including a kids’ toy shop. Since Ada and I are sharing skirts this month, I decided to pair that theme (button down skirt) with our…

Asymetrical skirt: Creativity in Dressing
When you have a month long series featuring skirts, you try to be creative with the outfits your present. There are still 4 more types of skirts to share. Today, it is the asymetrical skirt. You can really only see the asymetrical lines in the first picture as I forgot about that being the focus. I chose to dress down this thrifted skirt by adding some casual elements to it. I think the 2 different directions of the stripes makes this a really fun skirt. It has some stretch and is a pull on skirt. I originally thought to pair it with a different top but it just didn’t look…

Dressing up A Pencil Skirt
I really enjoy the lines of a pencil skirt but still want to be comfortable while wearing one. So nearly all of my pencil skirts are made of nice stretchy fabric and have an elastic waistband. I only purchased clothes from SheIn once and this was one of 4 skirts I bought. I have worn it a lot with casual tees so this time I want to dress it up a little while still creating a comfortable outfit. I chose this pretty purple lace tank I found at one of my favorite local consigment store (Uptown Cheapskate) a couple of months ago. I have tried really hard to make sure…

ZooAtlanta and Sean Kenney’s Nature Pop (Legos)
We were due a visit to the zoo so we took advantage of a Friday to head early to ZooAtlanta to enjoy the Sean Kenney’s Nature Pop lego exhibition. There are 40 sculptures spread around the zoo in bright colors. The exhibition will be there till August 8th. There were some 3D sculptures as well as some 2D ones and the children and I definitely had a favorite which I will share first! I think the polar bears were made with more than 100,000 lego pieces and we loved how it depicts a mama bear with her 3 cubs. My husband and I often call our boys our bears so…

Athletic Skort: Hiking in Style
When Ada suggested a skort as part of our July skirt series, I was on on board. I had seen this Target skort shared by several bloggers and wanted to try them. The fabric is moisture wicking so they are actually quite comfortable in the heat and humidity. I planned my outfit for this hike up Stone Mountain with blog pictures in mind and also knowing I was planning to meet Yenni from IdeasValyen that afternoon. Stone Mountain Park is located in Stone Mountain, GA and the hike up this large granite mountain is definitely more fun in the cooler month. Therefore we tried our best to stick to the…

Midi Skirt: Brighten Your Day!
I wore this bright and cheery outfit for Sunday church in June. I have had my Modcloth skirt for several years now and you has seen featured on the blog several times (here, here and here). Since receiving this bright fuschia top from I’ll be have what she’s wearing, I have found several opportunities to wear it and found a perfect match in the bright pinks in this skirt. I often wear fitted tops with this voluminous skirt but I couldn’t pass up this color combination. I went ahead and front tucked the blouse to create a little shape and chose an older pair of wedge sandals. These have really…

Casual Denim Skirt Outfit
Skirts in July! Ada and I are bringing you loads of inspiration for the skirts in your closet! Maxi, midi, mini, knit, wrap and more! Today, I am sharing an outfit featuring one of my two denim skirts. I love the longer cut of this one and how the split and light wash keep it modern. I paired it with a top from I’ll have what she’s wearing that I won in a giveaway a couple of months ago. I wore espadrilles I picked up on clearance last year at Old Navy which makes this outfit about $20: probably one of my most budget friendly outfits: my mom gifted me…

A Hike at Stone Mountain Park, GA
We hadn’t visited Stone Mountain in quite a while so I took advantage of meeting up with a new Instagram friend nearby to plan a hike. Now, going up Stone Mountain on the hottest week of the start of summer might not have been the best idea but we came prepared with water, snacks and gatorade. We also made sure to wear hats and wear sunscreen. We also make sure to walk in the shade as much as possible. For the first part of the hike, we were able to do that by sticking to shade of the pine trees. Stone Mountain boast the largest exposed mass of granite in…
