June Favorites
Another month has gone by and we have enjoyed some more home time! I am getting a little cabin fever so I have planned a couple get together friends in the next couple of weeks. While I have slowed down my shopping, there a couple things that made it into my home so I will share by top 2 favorites of those. #1 The Pool After some debating, our HOA decided to open the pool the first week of June. I was beyond grateful since it has been harder to convince my boys to go play outside. The newness of playing outside at all hours of the day has worn…

Summer Weddings with Ada’s Thursday Moda Link Up
While there might be fewer wedding invitations this summer as some have posponed their wedding or made it a smaller affair, it is always fun to consider what to wear to a celebratory event such as a wedding. As most of my friends are in the same stage of life as I am, married with kids, there has been fewer wedding invitations in the past 10 years. However, having younger cousins, we have gone or been invited to a few summer weddings. Sadly we missed the last two by being out of the country on vacation. Today, I am pleased to have been invited to join co-host the Thursday Moda…

Yellow Wide Legged Pants: 2 ways
When I was looking for a a white tee with details to replace my dingy one, I came accross these yellow floral pants at Ross. At $8.99 I couldn’t pass them up and took them to try on. My closet has become quite colorful this year and I am loving it. Dressing in the morning makes me happy and brigthens my outlook on the day combined with a to do list (having a sense of purpose and accomplisment helps me feel like I haven’t wished the day away). Of course, before deciding to keep them I had to think of several ways I could wear them. Today I am sharing…

My New DIY Firepit!
Every couple of years, we buy a new fire pit as ours get worn out with weather and use. For a couple of years now, I have been wanting to make a stone fire pit. We enjoy fires in the summer, fall and winter, roasting marshmallows and just enjoying the delight of looking at a fire. So I finally looked at a YouTube video and decided that last weekend was the weekend to make it. I listed my supplies and headed to Home Depot. I hesitated between a brick that was $1.98 per brick and one that was $2.38. And the $2.38 won out. For only a little over 13…

Red for Thursday Moda with Elegance and Mommyhood!
I am pleased to co-host Thursday Moda with Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood one more time. Thanks, Ada! You can see our posts featuring cobalt blue last week here and here. I have been revamping my wardrobe in 2020 donating things that did not fit well, that did not bring joy (I don’t want to force myself to wear something) or that were worn out. My summer and spring wardrobe are really in no need of anything so I am going to take a day at a time, a week at a time and see if I can stick to a goal I made in this area till the end…

Inspired by Lisa at Coast to Coast
A couple of weeks ago, Lisa from Coast to Coast featured a cute travel look that showed me one more way I could wear my jumpsuit. I haven’t worn my jumpsuit much as I do not feel like it is the most flattering piece of clothing in my closet but I cannot deny how comfortable it is. Lisa’s look was easy to replicate as I have a light colored denim jacket in my closet as well as leopard wedges. Whenever I find a look I can copy by shopping my closet, I get excited: I have been bitten by the shopping bug these past few months, and I am kind…

A Day in my Life
I thought is would be fun to do one of these posts since my last one was when life was more normal and I wanted to document a day in the days of the easing of the lockdown in our state. 6:00 Woke up but didn’t get up till 6:55 7:30 – 8:00 Ran 2 miles with neighbor: we ran a 9:50ish min/mile and a 10:50 mile. We are planning to run 3 times a week and increase our distance. With the heat though, we will need to start going earlier. 8:00-8:45 Shower, fed kids breakfast, posted my daily instagram pictures and spent a little time liking and commenting on…

One tank 3 ways: Thursday Moda with Ada’s Elegance and Mommyhood Link up
First of all, I want to thank Ada for asking me to co-host Thursday Moda with her. Ada is mom to cute little Vivian and I have enjoyed reading her blog and following her on Instagram for a couple of years now. I think some of my favorite of her posts are her mommy and me outfits: since I have 4 boys, I do not really match very often with my boys (sometimes we do with camo or certain color themes) and I love all of the cute little outfits they put together. Vivian is a little fashionista herself and Ada often shares her school outfits. Ada is also passionate…

Another Day, Another Hike
We are definitely slowing down on the hiking front as the weather is getting warmer and more humid: not fun to go out there with 4 kids when everyone is sweating bullets! This particular hike a couple weeks ago was really fun because it was short (as promised to my boys) and because we actually had never walked it. It follows the lakeshore for a while offering some pretty views. While a short 1 mile hike does not offer as much exercise as a longer hike, it offers opportunities for taking one’s time to observe nature. See the frog? My 9 year old noticed it as we walked by. This…

Skirts Outfits!
Growing up, I was wore skirts every day. I do not think it bothered me much until I was in middle school. I looked different than the other kids at school especially when I went to high school and as a teen, I wanted to fit in. High school was a private school both in France and Mexico City so the children wore brand name and wore the latest fashion. I still had my group of friends but I really wanted to fit in more with the general population. As I became independent and lived on my own, I started wearing a variety of clothes including pants, shorts and still…
