Outfit Inspiration with Polka Dot Jacket: Colorful Jacket Part 3

We have made it to the last installment of my series! Today, I am sharing outfits with my thrifted polka dot blazer, but of course, these can apply to any printed blazer. It is always fun to go back in time to style how I have styled something so I have really enjoyed this series. I also is a reminder of what I do enjoy wearing as the variety of outfits and how I still like them is a testament of some good buys. After looking at these outfits, I decided to pair my polka dot blazer and do a little print mixing! I was not feeling awesome when I…

    Camo with Teal for Spring

I have had different camo pieces in my closet over the years, but I think my camo pants have been the most worn. Between this pair of camo jeans and a sand color pair, I have come up with numerous outfits. When my sister in law gave me this teal cardigan in January, I knew it would pair well with these pants. I guess camo can be considered a neutral: I don’t think any color won’t go with it. I have worn it with rust, yellow, pink, red… of course some color combination work better than others with my skin tone, but camo is really versatile. Now that it is…

Outfit Inspiration: a Week of Neutral Spring Outfits

I actually wore these outfits during a week of “false spring” the first week of February: this is when the weather tricks you into thinking that winter is over and it is sunny and 75 degrees! As I was still shopping my closet and it was warmer than it had been, I decided it would be fun to see how many “new” outfits I could come up with tan neutrals and a little denim thrown in. I really like the outfits I came up with and it made me realize once again how complete my wardrobe is. By the way, Jodie shared some neutral outfits and tips on Monday, so…

Outfit Inspiration with Blue Jacket: Colorful Jackets Part 1

This month, I decided to share outfit inspiration with some of the colorful jackets or blazers in my closet: most of the ideas will probably work with toppers of other colors in your closet. Hopefully, these posts will encourage you to put together some colorful outfits this spring. I really enjoyed tan and deeper colors this winter, but now I am ready to wear some color! I am sharing one new outfit for each of these as well as other ways I have worn the toppers in the past! I will feature a different jacket each Monday for the month of March. Since the 2 ways I have worn the…

Trench Vest: Another Winter Neutral Palette Outfit

It took me a bit to come up with the title of this blog post. I hadn’t originally planned to take blog pictures of this outfit, but I really liked it and I thought that after sharing the trench vest as a dress last week, it would be fun to show you how I wear it most of the time. I have paired it with a variety of tops and pants, even skirt and over dresses, but this classic monochromatic combo is one of my favorites. My friend Rachel whose book I shared last week gave me these fun mules. She had thrifted them, but decided that she really didn’t…

Mustard and Purple: a Favorite Color Combo

As I was planning my blog posts for the month of February and looking back at some blog posts where I shared dresses with sweaters, I came across this picture: my purple hand me down dress and my mustard accessories. It was inspiration for an outfit which I never wore nor photographed several years ago. Since I still had all the pieces, I decided it was time to wear the outfit! My sister in law gave me this dress and an identical one in black about 8 years ago: I usually wear it a few times a year and I enjoy seeing what I can pair with it. I recently…

Pinks and Reds with the Ageless Style Link Up

Pinks and reds is an appropriate theme for February! I didn’t want to share a look that was very thematic, so when I was putting together a church outfit last month and realized the skirt was predominantly pink, I decided to incorporate it in a look that would work all winter long including February! Here’s a little breakdown of this outfit: the skirt is a summer skirt from Billabong that I was influenced to buy a couple years ago. It’s a style that I like, but the side slit is really high and you will see my solution for that in the picture below. High it is! I wore my…

Vest as a Dress: Inspired by IdoDeclaire

Laura from I do DeClaire shared several ways to wear her vest in a post in December. She categorized hers as a trench dress. Mine is thicker and I bought it on clearance at TJMaxx a couple years ago. I have worn is open as a vest several times and never would have thought to wear it as a dress, but it works! I decided to wear this at my friend’s book launch party as I wanted to wear something warm as the temperature were hovering in the low 20s with a wind-chill. The party was hosted at a coffee shop in Chattanooga which is a 1h30 drive from my…

Outfit Inspiration with a Neutral Long Cardigan

I have had this tan cardigan for several years now, having bought it at Target fall of 2022. As I saw it hanging in my closet, I decided to see how I wore it in the past and to wear it a few more ways this year. The oatmeal color makes it versatile and the length and weight make it a cozy layer. I have found it looks great over pants and leggings, but is cute as a dress too. The first combo I am sharing is a simple one of leggings, tunic and cardigan. I really like the combo of black and tan, it’s simple yet classic. Because the…

    Valentine’s Day Look

I wore this a few weeks ago for Sunday church and thought it would be a great Valentine’s day look. I am not much one for holiday themed clothing, but rather like to wear something in a holiday color scheme. So for this look, I started to look at my closet in terms of reds, pinks and whites. I decided to wear my burgundy tulle skirt instead of my red one for two reasons: I have shared it less and the darker color is a little more understated in my opinion. The polka dots are fun and I decided to wear black booties with it, choosing these because of the…
