Sweatshirts with Ageless Style Link Up

I had several ideas in mind for this post as I have a number of sweatshirts but ended up with a spur of the moment photoshoot last week on the day of my haircut. The trees are rapidly blooming and losing their blooms so I thought this bright yellow sweatshirt would be very appropriate for a bright sunny day and taking pictures near this tree would be perfect for spring. My favorite sweatshirts are lightweight and in cheery colors. I dream of wearing sweatshirts with shorts but typically once shorts season is here sweatshirts are out of the question because it is too hot for them. Since I am not…

    Denim Jacket Spring Inspiration

I thought that it would be fun to share some of my past outfits featuring my denim jackets to give you some spring inspiration. For some of us, spring weather has already made an appearance (think the southern states) while some of you may enjoy these ideas for the coming months. I have several denim jackets and I find that each of them has a place in my closet. I wear them for church, during the week and with a variety of outfits. They are great for dressing down an outfit or give you just that needed layer to stay warm. Mustard Denim Jacket (or any colored denim) I had…

Styling Emerald Green for Spring: March Sunday Showcase

When Ada suggested wearing emerald green for this Sunday Showcase, I thought about my dark emerald green tank (which would be a little harder to style for the weather) and then this green dress from Target which is a more muted emerald green. Emerald is a slighthly bluish vivid green but since there is a wide range of colors that fit the description, I thought this dress fit the theme well and I decided to style it in a new way. I last featured it in this post last year with a different denim jacket. I took these pictures on a sunny afternoon last week and I couldn’t believe these…

Inspired by I Do DeClaire: Red and Stripes

One of the tips I have for shopping your closet successfully is to search for inspiration on Pinterest or Instagram while knowing what it hanging in your closet. If your closet is stuffed to the gills and you cannot see what you have, you may not be able to find inspiration that you can actually copy or replicate. Remember though that it does not have to be an exact copy. As you will see in this post my outfit is very similar to Laura’s from I do DeClaire who was my inspiration but it is not an exact copy. The idea is there but with the colors but the cuts…

Build an Outfit: How to Create an Interesting Look

I sometimes put on just a cute sweater, pants and sneakers and call it a day but some days, I try to create a new outfit from my closet or decide to add extra interest to my look of the day.  I am working on spending less and wearing more of what I have creating new outfits with the same pieces. Today, I wanted to share the creation of 3 outfits to show you my process. New Outfit with Blush top The outfit on the right is my first outfit: I had not worn my blush top at all this season and I wasn’t sure if it still had a…

    Cowboy boots Winter Outfit

I have been trying to wear my cowboy boots at least once every season if not more as they are really a cool pair of footwear. This outfit really is meant to showcase the new to me Kyla Seo plaid shirt that I found on Poshmark the first week in February but the boots complimented the outfit so well and are such a statement that I titled my post with them. If you would like to see how I have styled them on the blog before, there is a summer outfit with them and another older post here. But back to my new shirt: I bought it NWT and got…

7 Days of Dresses: Winterizing your Dresses

For my 7 days of dresses challenge on Instagram, I shopped my closet and winterized them to fit the weather and my activities. Many times, I added a pair of leggings to shorter dresses especially if it was really cold and had fun adding different types of top layers to them. I may not be as creative as Jodie (she is sharing her post here today with her dresses styled for winter) but I am happy to say this was a fun challenge and I created some new to me outfits. Thanks to the ladies who tagged me on Instagram with their dress outfits and thank you, Jodie for joining…

Ponchos and Wraps with the Ageless Style Link Up

Since I have never devoted a whole post to this summer 2020 Loft Clearance find, I decided that this little poncho deserved some attention and it fit perfectly with our Ageless Style theme. I actually had a completely different outfit in mind with a different poncho but when I wore this one day at the end of January, I decided that we needed to take some blog pictures with it. I was comfortable and warm all day in it, wearing the scarf in the morning while it was in the 30s and shedding it when the temperatures hit the 50s. I’ve actually worn the poncho with stripes before as well…

    Velvet Joggers: 5 ways

I am all about versatility in my closet so when I picked up these velvet joggers at Kohls before the holidays, I wanted to share that they do not need to be relegated to being worn one month of the year or for special occasions but they can be worn at any time. So today I am sharing a few dressy ways to wear them as well as some casual looks. Since I had to change after each picture, we took these pictures around the house instead of a pretty location. Frenchie One of my husband’s uncles has always called me Frenchie! And with this pretty tunic and my beret,…

5 Outfits Inspired by Others: Shopping my Closet

A couple of weeks ago, I was inpired to put together an outfit inspired by one of the other bloggers who participated in the 7 day skirt challenge Gail from Is this Mutton put together. After writing about an outfit post inspired by Jodie from Jodie Touch of Style, I had a few comments about how people really enjoyed my inspired by posts. So here you have 5 outfits that were inspired by pictures I saved on Instagram that I knew I could copy or create a similar version by just shopping my closet. When I saw Leslie from Once upon a Time and Happily Everafter wear her Old Navy…
