Create 28 Challenge Outfits (Week 1 and 2)

This February, I decided to join in with Carrie from A Stylish Fit with her create 28 winter challenge. The challenge has a daily prompt and encourages you to take another look at your closet to create new combinations. I really appreciate that the prompts are simple and broad! It was easy for me to come up with outfits and I think they were all new combinations. I cheated a little and went shopping on the 2nd of the month at Goodwill and scored 9 tops for $40. So I am shopping my closet with the addition fo my thrift finds. Here are some of my favorites from the first…

February Sunday Showcase: Red and Pink for Valentine’s

For this February Sunday Showcase, Ada and I are showing you a contrast in weather and how we can wear accessories red and pink in winter but in ways that work for where we live. We both love red and I really am a little jealous of some of her red accessories. This year, I have been looking at which colors are missing in my closet and keeping an eye out for them in stores. Don’t forget to stop by Ada’s blog post to see more of her pink and red layers! A Dressy Look When Ada suggested a red and a pink look for the February showcase, I decided…

    Shopping on a Budget: Thrifting

I only went thrifting once or possibly twice in 2020. I plan to remedy that this year and hope to make it a monthly outing with my mom. There is a nice consignment store in her small town where I always find something as well as a St Vincent de Paul thrift store that surprised me with a few fun finds in November. I was disappointed to see that it was closed the day we went because of possible COVID exposure so I plan to stop by next month. I think the thing that I enjoy the most from shopping second hand is finding some items that you do not…

OOTD: Shopping my Closet to Copy Looks

I have been getting inspiration from different bloggers’ blog posts and Instagram posts to create my daily outfits recently. Another way to shop your closet and make new outfits is to take note when you see an outfit you like and can replicate in some shape or manner. Here are the looks I copied with my version of them! Inspired by Megan from Honey We’re Home Megan is always a great source of inspiration for outfits and home organization. Her pink vest in this post caught my attention since I have one in my closet and I knew right away this would be an easy look to wear. I have…

    Little Black Dress 3 Ways

One of the things I would like to focus this year is sharing ways to wear one item. It may be an item that was an investment piece, a thrifted item, a statement item or a classic piece like a little black dress. I have this dress in black and purple and I will share a couple ways at the end of this post with the purple dress to show you that a classic timeless dress does not have to be a neutral to be versatile. My sister in law handed down both of these dresses to me last year and I had forgotten how well they fit and how…

My Favorite November and December Outfits

Some months, I recap my favorite outfits of the month in one or two posts and sometimes I forget. I haven’t done that in a while, so I decided I would look back at my outfits for the last two months and decide which outfits I liked best. I will say that having a good hair day also influences which outfits made the cut! I ended up with 10 outfits with two of them being from our beach trip at Thanksgiving. Grey Monochromatic Look Love every piece in this outfit and wore it again on New Year’s Day! I have worn these booties so much more than I expected. Snakeskin…

January Sunday Showcase and Link Up: Red in Winter

As the new year starts and I take a look back at the past year and my spending in the clothing category, I am reminded that I need to make sure that what I do purchase is versatile and will be worn frequently. As I take pictures of my daily outfits, I have realized how accessories add a fun dimension to an outfit and how I am drawn to certain things (sweaters vs cardigans) more than others. So if I don’t wear cardigans much, I really do not need to invest in more for example, even if they look cute on other people. In this post, I am sharing how…

    What to Wear for Christmas

I am not the only one who was attracted to this simple but special beige sweater dress from Target. Both Lisa from Coast to Coast and Darlene from Aquamarina Style styled them in a blog post (here and here). The dress appears to be out of stock online but you may find it in store. I love that the dress can be worn with or without a belt, it is not too fitted but not boxy either. My friend and I went Christmas shopping a week ago in Marietta and I knew the square would be decorated and would be a festive background for some pictures. I chose brown accents…

Inspired by Lisa at Coast to Coast

This is not the first time that Lisa has inspired an outfit of mine. When I read her post about neutrals for fall I knew I wanted to copy her outfit but of course I did forget to add a belt: that is what happens when you do not double check the pictures that inspire you! Here is the post when I copied one of Lisa’s outfit a few months back. I always have to watch myself when she shares some of her finds because we have similar taste. She could easily break my budget! If you haven’t visited her blog, go on over and leave her a comment! She…

    Fall Beach Outfits: Thanksgiving 2020

We just got back from a week at the beach spending Thanksgiving together relaxing and enjoying the outdoors (as well as the indoors) since it was a beautiful sunny week. We decided to keep on with our last few years’ tradition of spending Thanksgiving at the beach albeit by ourselves this year and I have no regrets! It was good to get away and we all enjoyed a week of no worries. Today I am sharing my week’s outfits. The lows were in the mid 60s and the highs in the mid 70s. This was my traveling outfit minus the flip flops and I left my plaid shirt at the…
