Red for Valentines: February Sunday Showcase
I love it when I can find something new to share for a theme that is a yearly theme. Around the holidays, it is nice to share some outfits that one might wear for a special occasion or a themed outfit so today, I was happy to be able to share a newer dress that hasn’t seen the daylight yet. Today, Ada and I are sharing some red outfits and accessories for the month of Love and Friendship! I typically do not have any luck with maxi dresses on Amazon: they have been too tight in the bodice, been unflattering, have had mistakes in the sewing and I have always…

Enjoy the Now
Often times after a couple of months into a season, we start looking forward to the next one and forget to enjoy the now and the present season (this can be meant literally and figuratively). It’s winter and we want it to be spring with flowers and warmer temperatures, it’s spring and we want it to be summer and bathing suit season… The same as a parent or sometimes in a job: when my children are potty trained, when they go to school, when they… One of my goals this year is to enjoy the now and really live in the now as much as possible. Of course, I look…

Night Running NoxgerGear Tracer 2 Review
If you follow me on Instagram and read my blog regular, you might have heard me mentioning our local running club and me starting to meet up twice a week with two friends to run at 4:45 in the morning. Running club meets once a week at 6PM and both of those times are dark, especially the morning run. I have been wearing a reflecting belt but many in our group have been wearing and/or purchasing a Noxgear Tracer2 visibility vest. The vest is made of multi LED fiber optics with a reflective belt. There are quite a few color settings and the 20 hour battery is rechargeable with a…

5 Outfits Inspired by Others: Shopping my Closet
A couple of weeks ago, I was inpired to put together an outfit inspired by one of the other bloggers who participated in the 7 day skirt challenge Gail from Is this Mutton put together. After writing about an outfit post inspired by Jodie from Jodie Touch of Style, I had a few comments about how people really enjoyed my inspired by posts. So here you have 5 outfits that were inspired by pictures I saved on Instagram that I knew I could copy or create a similar version by just shopping my closet. When I saw Leslie from Once upon a Time and Happily Everafter wear her Old Navy…

January Favorites: Running and French Treats
I don’t post favorites every month but sometimes I like to think about things that have brought be joy or that I have enjoyed during the month. After trying to run a 2 miles 8 days in a row I figured that while I enjoy running leasurely with others, I only like to run faster when I do a 5K. So at running club, depending on my mood I run with the slower ladies or the faster ones. I also am not forcing myself to run every day but just a few times a week and walking other days. I love the outdoors and while we get cold weather, we…

Savoy Car Museum
A few weeks ago, we decided to visit a new car museum that opened in the area as it was a cold Saturday afternoon. The Savoy Car Museum opened in December and displays an assortment of automobiles and works of art. It is located between Chattanooga and Atlanta just of off I75 in Cartersville. According to the website, the exhibits will change which I think is a great idea since these focused on a few eras and we were disappointed not to see some other time periods. This rusted 1954 Plymouth Savoy was discovered on the grounds during construction. The current exhibits include American Racing, the Great American Classics, Woodies…

Winter Coats in the Southern States
Living in the state of Georgia which is by all means a southern state in the United States that does not get snow every year, do I need a warm winter coat? My answer to that question is yes but do I need two? Probably not but with a gift card in hand and some free time on my hands, I found myself purchasing a second winter coat. According to google coats are heavier and longer in length than jackets. I consider most of my outerwear as jackets but my red peacoat a coat as well as these two down winter coats. Here is my peacoat coat that I have…

A Few New Organizing Updates at Home
This year, I am focusing on making small changes at home to make some little improvements to toy organization as well as closet organization. I want to streamline a few things, reduce the clutter and the number of things we have laying around the house. I started as soon as the year started and I am sure we continue to declutter throughout the year as we can always do with less. The boys had 3 tubs under their bunkbeds with legos and really didn’t play with the legos unless those tubs were out. I had the boys help me greatly reduced the number of legos we kept and we sold…

Periwinkle with the Ageless Style Link UP
I enjoyed putting this outfit together as there were so many shades of periwinkle to choose from. The color is derived from violet and blue and while the new Pantone color of the year Very Peri might be a little more infused with color the shade of purple in my outfit fits quite well in the tones of periwinkle as can be found by googling the color. This is the Veri Peri color: I do have one purple top that I guess would be very close in shade but is a summer top and I did not want to buy anything new for our theme. I am curious…

Inspired by Jodie to Style my Yellow Plaid Cardigan 3 ways
A few months ago, Jodie (Jtouchofstyle) shared a yellow plaid cardigan from BelongUSAstyle that she paired with her camo pants. In her post, she shares 5 ways to style those pants but the yellow plaid cardigan really stuck in my mind. When it went on sale during the Christmas season I decided to order it in hopes that I would enjoy it as much as she did. I knew I could pair it with my camo jeans but that it probably would pair with many other things in my closet. With our mild winters (most of the time), I can wear it 3 season out of the year! Here is…
