What to Wear to the Pumpkin Patch: Dress with Combat Boots
Just as my post about What to Wear to a Winery mentioned, you really can wear whatever you would like to the pumpkin patch. A dress, jeans, shorts… Now when you blog, you might wear something a little unexpected like a dress with combat boots. Probably not my best idea as these were cream colored and it had rained a few days prior to our visit. Thankfully, I did bring along another pair of shoes to change into after a few pics as I probably would have ruined them. You can see some of the activities we enjoyed in my post (here).
I chose one of my summer dress whose colors lend themselves to a fall outfit and paired it with my light denim jacket. I knew I would not be wearing it much as it was going to be warm but I like it to define my waist and it gives the outfit a fall vibe.
I grabbed a bag that would fit my extra pair of shoes and my wallet. I think all of my purses can be worn as crossbody bags too. They are practical when you still may have to run after your kids. My earrings match the boots in color: it is what you call bookending your outfit.
Here is a closer look at the boots. This is my 3rd pair of combat boots. I like the edginess they give to outfits but 2 of the pairs I have are a suede type material which is not the easiest to clean so I have to be careful when wearing them.
We found this little spot in the corn maze that looked like a gothic window so I decided to use it as a frame. I was disappointed the boys didn’t want to take time for pictures but at least I got these two! You can see I had changed into my sneakers at this point.
Sometimes I am surprised how the right dress can be comfortable for an outdoors outing. In this case the length worked since I would not be sitting on the ground, the material is comfortable and stretchy and was great for moving around. You can see in the post mentioned above that I didn’t sit on the sidelines.
It has been a pretty fun fall so far. We have tried to have at least one small adventure every weekend. Sometimes that looks like a few hours of fun for an admission fee, sometimes it is just having a picnic or a walk or driving up to the North Georgia mountains. I love this time of the year!
A bientôt!

We’ve been having a pretty muddy fall here too with lots of rain and that does mae it hard for me to pick the proper footwear when doing something outside. Your outfit looks cute and comfy.

Thanks, Joanne! At least some of my cute boots are easy to wipe down.
Ellie
The boots look great paired with the dress! Good planning on bringing an extra pair for the activities.

It’s what we have been trying to do most weekend: it feels so good. The boys complain at first but then they enjoy it.

Thank you! I’ve done the combination with a different dress and combat boots before and it is a fun one.

That is a cute dress on you and it looks lovely with the sneakers and the boots – you really can’t go wrong with either! Glad you were able to take the boots off so that they didn’t get dirty!
Hope that your week is off to a good start 🙂

Thanks, Mica! I need to make sure not to forget to wear my dresses in the cooler months.

What a fabulous activity for the family. I swear that dresses can work wonderfully so many times yet they get forgotten a lot!!
I need another pair of combat boots. My pair is SO heavy that they really aren’t comfy.

You had me at combat boots, Mireille! I love to see dresses with combats—it’s such a cool look, combining the feminine with the edginess of the boots. And the addition of the denim jacket is the icing on the cake!
I love your photos—the one of you and your hubby is so cute! And your adorable son looks just like you!

Our pumpkin patch wasn’t warm enough for a darling outfit like this one! You are super cute and I love those boots!

This fall has been amazing! We have been embracing it too. I am sad Halloween is over and a lot of IG influencers are talking Christmas. Like, what?! On another note, I love your combat boots. The look of it is so pretty but yes, I would be scared to wear in if it’s wet and muddy. You look cute in your dress and I love it can be styled with boots and sneakers. Happy November!

Yes, I really have enjoyed every bit of the cooler weather and just the beauty of nature around me. I am encouraging the boys to take advantage of the cool but not cold days while they can.

I am surprised over and over how versatile a more chunky and less feminine boot can be.

I adore those cream combat boots! I’m trying not to buy boots this fall but have already got 2 new pairs. Aargh. Love your pics. Thanks for linking.

That was my only pair bought this fall and I don’t plan to buy any more! I have quite a few booties. Less tall boots but I do wear them less.
Ella

Such cute family pictures in the corn maze, it looks like you all had a lot of fun! Love those boots and it’s a great use of the wrap style dress under a denim jacket for a fall look! Thanks for sharing and commenting on my blog!
