    Tulle Skirts for Winter

Tulle skirts have become part of my trademark outfits and I have shared them many times on the blog. I love the ethereal vibe and femininity of a tulle skirt. Here are some recap blogs when I have worn them: early fall inspiration valentine’s day look red tulle skirt for winter red tulle skirt for fall red tulle and stripes tulle dress for winter tulle and faux leather tulle: dress over a dress whimsical outfit with overlay tulle I had a few more posts, but I think this gives you a good idea on how much inspiration you can find to wear a tulle skirt whether you are 30, 40…

Restyling my Rust Skirt for Winter

I may like to wear some fun outfits, but I also enjoy wearing a simple outfit too!  I wore this skirt this fall for a date look on my anniversary trip and knew I wanted to wear it again in the winter! I actually wore it on a cold fall afternoon a couple weeks ago, and decided to take advantage of of slow traffic downtown caused by a train on the tracks to take pictures outside the building of the Western museum. I went for a simple look wearing a nice knit sweater from Loft my friend gave me recently, and chose my black boots to reflect the black in…

    Holiday Looks for Everyday

Today, I am sharing some outfits I wore this month where I tried to incorporate a little holiday spirit. You will notice a theme of pairing fun textured sweaters of different colors and types with mostly denim and the occasional scarf. I love wearing velvet and sparkles in December and January and one way to do that and not feel overdressed is to pair it with denim and relaxed shoes. So here are some of my favorite looks! A velvet top I found for $1 thrifting! This is the cutest top with bell sleeves and so easy to wear. I plan to wear it with a skirt too, but it…

Knotted Sweater and Jeans for Winter

I thrifted this sweater a couple weeks before our Thanksgiving break and loved the color and how soft it was. I hesitated because I wasn’t sure if I could wear it solo, but decided it would be fun to play with since it was like nothing in my closet. For this outfit, I wore it with a Halftee under, but felt like I needed a tank top under since my jeans were not as high waisted as I thought. I will try that next as well as wear it backwards with a pendant. When I packed for this trip, I knew it would be colder at the end of the…

Snow Princess: Styling my Oldest Piece for the Ageless Style Link Up

When Marsha suggested us styling our oldest piece for this month theme for the Ageless Link Up, I knew I could come up with something fun with this springy dress even though it is winter. I really don’t know how old this dress is, and I am not even sure where I got it from. It might have been JCPenney as I originally thought it was from Cato’s, but the tag was not from there. I know I bought it to wear for Easter years ago and I feel like it is probably 15 years old, if not more. I don’t wear it very often, but I wore it for…

OOTD at the Beach for Thanksgiving

I always like to have a loose theme when packing for a trip and I do tend to overpack when we take our trip to the beach, but I think I wore most of what I brought minus two scarves and my skort. This year, I planned my outfits with denim, stripes, blue and grey with a little burgundy thrown in. The weather was gorgeous and warm for the most part hitting mid 70s and the last 2 days were cold requiring some layers. Travel Outfit I only brought sneakers and one pair of flip flops on this trip and mostly wore my black and white ones. Next time, I…

    Gold Sweater Outfits for Christmas

I love coming up with different outfits for the holiday season and Christmas without resorting to a red and green thematic outfit. Over the years, I have worn teal, burgundy, silver and different textured fabrics like velvet to create some festive outfits. Today, I am sharing two outfits with a gold Sweater I thrifted for a dollar this fall. I wore the skirt outfit last Sunday to church. Gold Sweater with Velvet Joggers When I buy a special piece like this gold Sweater, whether it is thrifted or not, I want to make sure I can style it not only for a special occasion or a dressy look, but also…

    Casual Christmas Outfit

I don’t typically pair oversized with poofy for an outfit and I am still unsure if I really like this look, but I decided to share it anyways since we took the pictures. I think this could work as a casual Christmas outfit. My original idea was to tuck this oversized sweater into the skirt, however it was too large to do that. At the end I will share a picture with the top I ended up wearing it for Thanksgiving, instead of wearing it like this. We took these pictures at the Adagio condos at the beach during our Thanksgiving break. The day was cooler than it had been,…

Soft Themed Pajamas and More with Valerie’s Avenue

I have shared Yenni’s online boutique Valerie’s Avenue in the past as Yenni and I met a few years ago and have collaborated together several times over the years, as well as met in person several times too. I’ve also purchased a beautiful embroidered backpack purse and some embroidered booties from her boutique a couple years ago and have shared them on the blog several times. Since Christmas was approaching, Yenni suggested I feature one of the Christmas pajamas you can order in her boutique. So we met up at the Hilton Conference center in Marietta to take some pictures. I am pretty particular with my pajamas and my favorite…

    Tulle Dress for Winter

Yes, it’s time to style some tulle for winter! Some of my favorite pieces in my closet this year have been my tulle skirts and this tulle dress which I wore for my 50th birthday which I also styled for fall (here and here). After wearing it then, I knew I wanted to show you some ways a dress like this (or a skirt), could be worn in winter. Of course, if it was really cold, I would add a nice warm scarf and maybe a hat to these outfits. I hope you enjoy these and find some inspiration to have fun getting dressed this winter season! Layer a Sweater…
