    Nativity Outfit

I do not typically buy the same piece of clothing in different colors apart from very basic pieces so as tanks, layering tees long and short sleeves. However, when my sister in law gave me two identical dresses in black and in purple, I knew that them being the same was not going to bore me but would give me even more incentive to wear them and style them in different ways. Last week, I wore the black version of this Calvin Klein dress with a red peacoat jacket, a blanket scarf and caramel boots. This past Tuesday, I wore the purple dress but with different toppers and accessories, totally…

    Sunday’s Best

This Sunday, I was very excited to wear one of my new dresses that my sister in law handed down to me a couple weeks ago. The dress was still new with tags and was a Calvin Klein dress she found at TJmaxx. It skims the body without being too form fitting and the knee length is appropriate for church. I paired it with my Nickel and Suede saffron earrings, an old Target blanket scarf (cut in 2 for less weight and bulk) and my really old caramel boots I just don’t think I can part with yet. I love that the sleeves are 3/4 so the bell shape is…

    Top Posts of 2019

I started this blogging journey on March 6, 2019. Today I am sharing my top 5 posts and some fun stats. I have 20 blog followers and 186 Instagram followers. I have had 23,171 views (which is different than a visitor: a visitor might visit once and read 3 blog post, and that would show as 3 views). I have 2718 comments and my best day was 254 views. My visitors come from all over the world (thanks to the time I take to link up to other awesome bloggets link ups). An example was that Mondays’ visitors came from the US, Finland, Netherlands, Italy, Australia, Serbia and Bulgaria! Pretty…

    2020: Shopping with a purpose

I would lie if I said I would not buy anything new in 2020 apart from thrifting. While I will probably go thrifting every other month, I do have a short list of items that I would like to purchase this coming year. How to decide what I need or want? Since I do not have an overflowing closet and I am constantly reassessing my closet, I have a good idea of what I am lacking or would lack to replace: skirts: I would like to wear skirts more and most of my skirts are maxis. Right now maxis are not calling my name much and while I will keep…

    My Christmas Outfit

This year my sis in law is hosting Christmas at her house as we have done it most years in the past. It is brunch style food and I will be making some crepes, some peanut butter chocolate bars and a pineapple pie. It is a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying each other’s company, food and kids opening presents. I usually end up getting hot in the house and the forecast temperature is a high of 68 so my Christmas outfit reflects the weather and laid back atmosphere. Since I don’t have any green or red tops, I went for a silver/grey theme for top to bottom. I am wearing an old…

    December outfits

Today I wanted to share some of the outfits I have worn so far this month. After going a little crazy in November buying 4 to 5 sweaters and a few other items including my full price jeans (crazy by my thrifty standards), I decided to slow down knowing that I need to buy gifts for Christmas and wanting to get back to saving! I always underestimate how much I spend at Christmas and might write a recap about that spending later this week or next but today is the day for “Shop Mireille’s closet” in December. The only item purchased this month (and I will be strong and not…

How many boots do you need?

I guess if we were talking about real necessity the need would be for one or two pairs of boots. But as many of us like to wear different boots with different outfits and as weather might require one boot over another, today I am sharing the boots in my closet. I have not included booties. I do not own any OTK boots and the only new pair this year is the black riding boots from Target. The others are at least a couple years old. I do love that boots usually stay in my closet for quite a while. Black riding boots These are the boots that I typically…

    Beach vacation outfits

Well, we are back from our vacation at the beach! We had a wonderful time at the beach and I will be sharing a couple of our excursions over the next couple of Wednesdays. Please keep my nephew’s healing in your prayers as we had a little incident near the end of our trip. We ended up adding a day to our trip to be near the hospital and visit him there before returning home. We divided our time at the beach between playing on the beach and going on a few outings. I had planned for a relaxed wardrobe consisting of mostly light sweatshirts and some layers for early…

    Fall at the beach: packing

This Saturday, we will leave for a week at the beach (I will be taking that whole week off from blogging but will be posting some on Instagram). When getting ready for a vacation where we are renting our lodging, my first 2 tasks are planning some meals and planning my wardrobe. The meals I am planning are instant pot crack chicken (I will prep it before we go so we will just have to warm it up), a vegetable lasagna and we will cook a boston butt when we are there. I love hassle free meals and like to bring most of our grocery so hopefully it will all…

    Thanksgiving outfit

Just the other day, I pulled out my burgundy waterfall cardigan for my daily outfit and it inspired me to create a Thanksgiving look. I always like to dress up a little for the holidays even if we do not go to parties or have fancy dress occasions. So I took the same jeans and cardigan and made a few changes to elevate the look. The first look was what I wore for a day running a couple errands and doing some organization at the house. We will be going to the beach the week of Thanksgiving as we did last year and most likely we will return to GTs…
