Utility vest to transition into fall
One of my most used vest in the fall is my olive utility vest. It is a few years old and I was inspired by Putting me Together to purchase one after she reshared a post with multiple ways to wear it. Here are some now and later looks for last summer and early fall. You probably can copy these look with a blush, burgundy or other colored vest! Denim shorts and striped shirt A perfect look for the end of the summer! It is too hot here for jeans yet (apart from the occasionnal cooler day) so I will probably still wear my denim shorts well into September. Pair…

Transitioning a jumpsuit for fall
I actually kind of forgot about my jumpsuit until I was brainstorming ideas for fashion blog posts for the fall. Then I remembered my Amazon black jumpsuit and how comfortable it is! Now, here in Georgia, we will probably have warm weather till close to November with the occasional need for an extra layer on some days. With that in mind, I came up with several outfits using my jumpsuit as a base to build on. Fall accessories I wore this outfit to run some errands this past Friday and while the morning started at 64 degrees, the high was 90 so there was no need for layers. I used…

Little white dress
We all have one or more little black dresses in our closets but do you have a little white dress? This particular dress is a few years old from the Target Who What Wear line. Even though I love many things about this dress, I probably only wear it about once a year. I love the ruffles on the hem, sleeve and body of the dress. This is one of the few items in my closet with ruffles! I have worn this dress for Easter the year I bought it but felt it was too short for church so I have worn on dates after that. I wanted to wear…

Maxi dress for church
Why is is that most of my maxi dresses are sleeveless? I do love a sleeveless maxi for wearing for everyday or on date night, but it limits them for me since in church we cover our shoulders. So I went about looking at my closet to find a couple layers I could add to one of my favorite dresses. I like that the waist is at the natural waist because I have found that a lot of maxis have empire waist and those do not do me any favors (and make me look pregnant). The dress is about 4 years old and I have worn it for pictures at…

Sunshine and Pink Lemonade
This past week I saw a pretty look featured by Karen from Lady in Violet and knew right away I wanted to replicate it with items from my closet. I have seen the pink and yellow combo before but never tried it. First of all, I love this blouse!!! I love how it flows and while thin it is not see through. The sleeves are fun and not in the way because of their 3/4 length. I love the shade of yellow and stripes, why, yes! Another reason I love if is for sentimental reasons since I bought it on our trip to France this summer. I found it for…

Midwest Road trip Outfits
Last week, I took the boys on a roadtrip to visit a college friend and a church friend that live about an hour from each other in Missouri/Kansas. The trip takes about 12 hours so we made our first stop in St Louis where we visited the zoo. I will share our experience there on Wednesday’s post. After reading Grace’s post on Graceful Rags on how to pack a capsule wardrobe for a trip using a color theme, I decided to follow her example and chose a coral and navy theme for my wardrobe. Our trip included outdoors and indoors activities and it turned out that the weather was actually…

July outfits
These are my July looks that I documented. Several of the items are new purchases this month too. JCrew skirt I have eyed this striped JCrew skirt for a while and did not purchase it last time it was on sale so when Audrey from Putting me Together posted it was on sale again I jumped on it. It looks like it is now only available in red stripe in size XS and S. I wear it in size S. I have also worn it with a white Tee and may do a remix post with it at some point. I think it would be cute with a graphic tee…

June #thriftedchicstylechallenge outfits
Since returning from our early summer trip to Europe, I have bought several items of clothing and dropped another load of clothes at Goodwill. With school starting in a few weeks, money is being spent on school supplies and new shoes. As I start thinking about new vacation destinations and an empty vacation account, I need to turn my efforts to saving! In that spirit , I am sharing my June thriftedchicstyle challenge outfits. All of these items were thrifted a while back but I haven’t worn them much at all or have always worn them in the same manner. One way to keep from spending money on new clothes…

Black jumpsuit 4 ways
So after seeing bloggers sporting cute jumpsuits for a few months and trying a couple on some of my outings, I took the plunge and ordered a simple black jumpsuit on Amazon. I ordered it in medium and that was the perfect size. The jumpsuit is made of a thick tshirt like material and feels like pajamas with an elactic waist and a tie at the waist. I always love posts that show you how to wear an item several ways so here are 4 ways to wear a simple black jumpsuit in the summer. Because it is hot here in Georgia in the summer none of the looks involve…

One skirt, 5 ways
Since returning from our trip to Europe, I have been focusing on budgeting and saving! We enjoyed our trip so much that I want to continue to focus on family vacations. Since we live on one income, one of the ways that I can make that happen is by being careful where I spend my money. That is why most fashion related post I write might focus on one purchase worn many different ways or sharing ways to remix what you have in your closet as well as outfits inspired by other bloggers that I can recreate from items in my closet. Of course, I still will continue to buy…
