Shop my Closet: 13-26

Last month, I drove up to Chattanooga to visit my friend Rachel and thrift together. We stopped by 3 stores and I spent a total of $14. This Time and True sweater was $3 and I almost did not see since it was on a rack that I skipped because the items were size large. The theme for this month was scrumptious fabrics… and this little shrug from Ross Dress for Less is just that! My boys love how soft it is, and I have worn it a couple of times this winter since I picked it up in December. I took advantage of my son’s “sick” day a few weeks ago to take pictures of this outfit that I knew I would pack for an overnight date trip with my husband. As Cream as Snow: a Cream Winter Monochromatic Look: January Sunday Showcase
Wouldn’t this have been a great outfit to shoot in the snow? Alas, when we took these pictures, the weather was chilly but still in the 50s after about a week of gloomy and rainy weather. Stripes and Layers
Stripes are here to stay and they sure add interest to outfits. Today, I am sharing ways to layer them in the cooler months. Of course, you can wear them on their own as in the first outfit but they are perfect with all kinds of toppers. I am not sure I have a favorite way. The two tops I wore in these outfits are old. One has 3/4 sleeves while the other is longer at the bottom and at the sleeves. I also have striped tops for summer too.
