Revisiting your Budget
I have written several posts about budgeting over the past year and a half: how to make budgeting work for you why do a budget reset? budget friendly snacks no spend month, how to be successful lower your bills don’t break the bank at Christmas These are a few of them. After the past 6 months of not really trying to be thrifty, I decided it was time to get back to my roots of wanting to share more about budgeting in all areas of my life. Now budgeting in my current situation may look different than it looks last year when our income was different but the principles are…

Outfits for a Vacation in the Mountains
I shared my packing list for our week in North Carolina on a blog post a little while ago (read here) so I decided it would be fun to share my actual outfits. The advantage of going on vacation is that it gives some new and interesting backdrops for outfit pictures. I did forget my running shoes and my dress at home but probably wouldn’t have worn either so it worked out well. The weather started at about 70 degrees in the morning and went up to the mid 80s during the day. Most of our activities involved being in the outdoors. This was my outfit for visiting the Museum…

July Outfits (Part 2)
Well since I really like most of my outfits this month and not everyone follows me on Instagram, I decided to split my post in two since I had so much to share. I definitely had some winning piece such as my red Target dress so I wore it is several ways. At the time I wrote this post it was available online is small and medium in limited stock but it is worth checking if your store carries it. It is that good! Wow, I am looking a little tired in these pictures: the cute little 2 year has been waking me up most night and a little stress…

July Outfits (Part 1)
The month of July has been a month of brights! I have also enjoyed my white shorts a lot and wonder how I survived without a pair last year: I continue to vary my outfits with wearing shorts, skirts and dresses. As I mentioned in another post, I really am happy with my Spring/Summer wardrobe which has been a combination of donating what I didn’t like anymore and add some new things. With a less strict budget and a couple gift cards, I have been able to find some budget friendly things to add and it has been fun shopping (online). Yellows Purple used to be my favorite and I…

Packing for a Hiking Vacation
Our usual week long vacations destinations are to the beach while our bigger vacation take us abroad. We have occasionally gone to the mountains for a few days but we have never taken a week vacation in the mountains. Therefore, for this vacation I had to think differentlty. I had to pack items that would work on dirt trails, in water and maybe a cave visit. Being me though, I still will wear my statement earrings and will try to be fashionable. I decided to pack one dress but everything else can be mixed and matched for hikes or slightly streneous exercise. Shoes I am packing 4 pairs of shoes:…

Coral Dress and Sunflowers
Sunflowers! I love sunflowers! Growing up in the south of France, it was not unusual to come accross fields of sunflowers while traveling. I still remember going to a week long camp and my friends and I picking seeds from the sunflowers to eat them. I haven’t come accross those large sunflowers here but I decided that this year, I would find some fields to visit. Sunflowers and lavender are my favorite! After an internet search, I came accross Anderson Sunflower Farms in Cummings which is about an hour drive from my house. It was a $20 parking fee per car and you could then explore the fields and take…

Monochromatic Black for Summer
I love an all white look for summer but I also love an all black look too! While I wouldn’t wear all black and sit in the sun, an all black look is chic and classy for summer and can be appropriate depending on your activity. Today, I am sharing a look I wore running errands and hanging out at the house, a look I did a little walk in and a dressier look I would wear going out or going to an indoor event. Black skirt and graphic tee Often times, when I wear all black, I like to add some color with bright accessories. I have neutral sandals…

Inspired by Paula of Dimples on my What
I started reading Paula’s blog a year and a half ago, I think. I love to follow different bloggers not only for their sense of style (which she has therefore my inspiration for today’s outfit) but also for inspiration in other areas of life. Paula is a wife, a mother, and a grandmother and shares fashion tips for full figured women as well as shares personal inspiration. One of my favorite post was Overcome the Dark, Keep the Light on which something I needed to read at the time. She reminds me that I should draw strength from the scriptures (which is a habit I need to get back into).…
