What to Wear on a Picnic
There is no right or wrong for what to wear on a picnic, and I have worn dresses, flowy pants and denim to eat outdoors in the past. For today’s post, I took inspiration from a picture on Pinterest that featured a neutral outfit similar to the one I am sharing today. I have several baskets and a tote that I use for picnics, but today, I wanted to use this wicker picnic basket I found at an antique shop last year. It took me about a year of searching to find one in the price range I wanted: I did not want to spend $40 for something I would…

Denim Jacket Alternative with Maxi Dress
When I originally planned my outfit for the botanical gardens earlier in April, I planned to wear a navy denim jacket with this dress. However, after reading Jodie’s post that week, I decided to change it up and wear this cardigan wrap my bestie made me on my visit to France in 2019. I love this wrap with its unique fabric, stretch and flow. The wrap was the inspiration for the accessories which were all in the tan family. The rose pendant necklace was a hand me down from my aunt and the feather leather earrings were a gift from my mom. This tote from Amazon is great for trips…

Mother’s Day Outfit: Gingham Dress
I always like to dress up a little for Mother’s Day and when I was thinking about what I would wear, this dress came to mind. I had not worn it yet at the time of these pictures, but paired with my little jacket, it would work for church. We moved in my parents with us a few weeks ago and are adjusting to our new routine and family dynamics. We created a haven on our 3rd floor for ourselves to have a space to chill and hang out when we want time apart. A movie room with a big screen and comfy couches and a new space for our…

What to Wear to a Fieldtrip
Since I only have one child in primary/elementary school, there are not too many more opportunities to go accompany one of my children on a Fieldtrip. Most of the fieldtrips are to the same places every year, so I pick and choose which to go to. Going to the strawberry farm to pick strawberries is my type of fun, so that was the occasion for this outfit. I usually try to wear something in the school’s colors on field trip or sports events. Our school colors are purple and gold. While I sometimes wear school sponsored clothes, I would rather wear something a little more interesting and fun from my…

Printed Shorts 3 Ways
I love thrifting! I don’t always find something when I make a quick stop by the thrift store, but I often find a couple items that I love. One of those things last month was this pair of shorts. I had a few years when I did not enjoy wearing a shorts (probably because of the fit of the ones I had), but after thrifting several pairs last year (or the year before), I have worn shorts regularly throughout the summer. So I knew these would be a great addition to my summer rotation. Dressy Outfit A blazer instantly dresses up a pair of shorts as do accessories. So I…

Spring Wide Leg Pants Outfits
This is not the first time I have shared outfits with wide leg pants. Wide leg pants are one of my favorite ways to wear pants when it is too warm to wear jeans and I have curated a nice collection of them over the past few years. I did add 2 pairs last year when I was visiting Just Be Youtiful boutique in Arizona and I have reached for those probably the most. But I still love my other pairs too. Today, I am sharing some combinations I wore the past couple of months. Wow! This was a day where getting dressed brought me joy and I was glad…

Denim Dress: 3 ways to Style for Spring
I shared this dress a few weeks ago after I found it in a booth at a local boutique shop. I could see all of the styling possibilities when I bought it, so I decided to share some more inspiration for spring. Since I have a pretty full closet, anything that I add to it nowadays has to show its value by being worn more than just once or twice a year. I believe this will be a great dress to style this fall with boots, booties and layers. The dress can be worn on its own without a belt, but I wanted to add some interest and not have…

Navy and Burgundy: Inspired by Melodie
I follow Melodie Banfield on Instagram: she is a beautiful, classy French young women who shares her photo shoots in Paris where she lives with her husband. She also spends some time in the countryside and is a delight to follow. Recently, she shared an outfit with a pair of burgundy pants and a short sleeve striped navy sweater in a photo shoot at a market in Paris. As soon as I saw it, I knew I could wear a similar outfit. Here is her IG and if you go back a little, you can see the inspiration picture. I probably wouldn’t have thought to pair these two pieces together,…

An Outfit Inspired by one of Jennifer’s Dizis
This was another instance when I took pictures, added them to a blog but forgot to write the blog post itself before I pressed the publish button. I had to quickly schedule it for another day and post a different outfit blog on the day I had planned this one. Jennifer from Curated by Jennifer loves her dizis or Turkey soap operas and regularly recreated outfits she has seen on those shows. I recently wore my crochet vest, and she reached out with pictures from one of her dizis that she thought I could recreate. So today, I am sharing that outfit. While I am not in love with this…

3 Ways to wear a Set with the Ageless Style Link Up
Today, Joanne suggested showing how to wear something 3 ways: I could have shared how to wear my new to me denim dress 3 ways, but I will do that soon enough. Instead, I decided to share how to wear this set 3 ways. I am not one much for sets, but I do have a skirt set that I really enjoy (see here) and I think this pant and tank set will be a fun one to wear. I bought it when my friend’s online boutique was closing, so I read the description for it and decided to take a chance on it. Of course, there are many more…
