    The Perfect Thrifted Denim Dress

There is a little place in town that holds different booths that each person rent: you can find furniture, boutique items, second hand items and some antiques. I like to visit it about once a month, sometimes in search of something in particular like a lamp and other times just for fun. I decided to stop by in March for a quick see even though I wasn’t planning to spend on clothes and came home with this dress and a belt buckle (for a total of $13). This was the perfect denim dress and here is why it is the perfect dress. The length is perfect: it can be worn…

Denim Jackets: Styling a Variety of Silhouettes

Everyone has a denim jacket, but nowadays, you can find denim jackets in a variety of silhouettes just as you can find different styles and cuts of denim jeans. Today, I am styling four different jackets from my closet, but I am still on the lookout for a short sleeve denim jacket (I may cut the sleeves of a thrifted long sleeve one if I find a cut I like). Three out of 4 of these were thrifted and my oldest is the non-thrifted classic one from Target. Jodie is also sharing some denim jackets with different silhouettes and I cannot wait to see how she styled them. Here is…

Daily Outfits with Blazers for Spring

The weather here in Georgia is weird: you can have a 30 degree jump during the day especially in the transitional months. So the opportunity for lighter layers can be fleeting and I wanted to take advantage of some of those days to wear my thrifted blazers. And yes, you can wear blazers even if you do not work in an office. I am a stay at home mom and enjoy adding a little structure to my outfits with a blazer. Black Blazer Last time I shared this black blazer, I recreate an IG outfit, so today, I wanted to wear a different way. I actually am wearing the same…

Spring Trend 2026: Black Leggings Capri

When I searched for this year’s spring trends, I was surprised to see black leggings capris as one of them, but after seeing an inspiration picture, I quickly came up with an outfit I could wear and share by combining some pieces in my closet that I had never put together in one outfit. I have had a pair of black leggings capris for years, wearing them mostly as a layering piece under tunics and short dresses in the past. This pair is fairly old, I am not sure how old it is, I would guess about 10 years, and if I remember correctly I bought it at Walmart for…

Inspired by Manon: a Monochromatic Khaki Look

Sometimes it takes seeing someone wear something to realize you can create a similar look from you closet. I will share the inspiration picture at the end of my post, but today I am sharing my version of a 3 piece suit with pieces in my closet. I was surprised how much I enjoyed wearing this and how perfect it was for our weather. Spring over here means rainy days that can get warm and of course swinging temperatures: false spring sometimes comes before spring. Since you all love to read my family comments about my outfits, today’s gem is from my husband as he walked out the door and…

    Spring Overalls Outfits

After I thrifted a pair of overalls last summer, I wasn’t super happy with them: I really had been wanting a light pair of wide leg overalls, but I just had not come across a pair while thrifting. So while I wore that pair a couple of times, they were not something I reached for. So even before donating them this winter, since July, I have been stalking the Old Navy site for a restock or for their new version of light denim overalls  hoping they would have a sale. They never did have a sale, however, I ended up with a $20 off coupon to use the first week…

    Spring Trend 2026: Double Denim

The double denim or Canadian tuxedo has been around for a while (since 1951). I have seldom if ever worn 2 blue denim pieces of different washes together, so when I read that it was a spring trend this year, I thought I would try my hand at it. Of course, I had what I needed in my closet and chose my favorite denim skirt to pair with a contrasting denim shirt. I also shared some daily outfits on the blog last year for 2025 spring trends (bohemian dream here, petal pink here and pistachio here). Today’s outfit is the first of 3 trends I will share this year, shopped…

Embracing Spring Trends while Shopping My Closet: Ageless Style Link up

Spring trends are the topic of today’s blog post with the Ageless Style ladies! I will be sharing a few more trends this month, but today I chose to combine navy, lace and fringe from my closet which were all mentioned as some of 2026 spring trends. Both of those the purse and blouse were thrifted a while back and I don’t think I had paired them with this maxi before. I do not typically pay attention to trends, but I do like to see what is trending in the spring and seeing what I already own that I can style in a new way. I took advantage two weekends…

    Hoodie Blazer Styling

I bought this hoodie blazer combo at the beginning of Februry at TJmaxx and while it was on the clearance rack, it was still $29.99. After trying it on and seeing that it fit perfectly (and that the hoodie portion can be unzipped and taken off), I decided to purchase it. I don’t have anything like it in my closet and I knew I would enjoy wearing it for a while to come. Nothing like posting and forgetting to write and post with only pictures! Today is digital day and teacher workday for school, so we did not have to get up early and are taking it easy this morning.…

Creating Artistic Outfits: Finding my Inner Artist

Last month, my friend Jodie shared ways to pull a color from a print to create an outfit. One of her sentences in her post really stood out to me “this is how outfits feel artistic instead of accidental” and it made me realize that Jodie creates art with fashion when she puts together outfits. Here is her blog post and yes, her outfit is definitely a really cool piece of walking art. She creates wonderful canvases of colors in patterns through her outfits. While my style tends to be more subdued and a mixture of boho and classic pieces, I do love to have fun with outfits too and…
